Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

We’re a tiny campus in a small town; there aren’t taxis driving around waiting to pick people up. The best way to get around town is to walk, and the best way to get to the mall or Wal-Mart is to bum a ride off a friend. If you need to get to the airport or the train station in Harrisburg, ask a friend to drive you. As the city is about 45 minutes away, it is not asking a lot to have someone drop you off there. If you cannot find anyone, there are taxi services close to school, which come in handy if you need to go to Allentown or Philadelphia, which are farther away.

There are no campus shuttles because they aren’t necessary. You can make it from one end of campus to the other in about 10 minutes. The only time there is shuttle service is when there is an event going on at Bucknell University or another nearby location that students may be interested in attending. There was recently a speaker at Bucknell that SU helped to pay for, so there was a shuttle bus to the Bucknell campus, but there were only about 12 students on the bus, give or take, because most people just drove there.

Traxporation

Recently, the SGA has funded a free bus transportation system for the students who choose to go out on the weekends! The bus is free and travels every half hour, picking students up on the main street in town, and also on the street where most of the student's party in off-campus housing. Also, on Saturday afternoons, the SGA also provides free transportation to the shops in town. The bus runs every half hour for at least 6 hours in the afternoon on Saturday. It stops at the Mall, WalMart, Giant, Target, and other major stores along the strip. These transportation systems helps to kep our students safe and also helps to keep the students from spending extra money on gas to pick up groceries!

Parking Is Easy and Cheap

I was lucky enough to have a car on campus starting freshman year. For the year it is only $20 to have a car which is really cheap for college. The hike to the freshman parking lot kind of sucks but isn't too bad. Besides not having a car I couldn't really tell you much about the transportation the school offers. They do have two cars on campus that you can rent if you sign up for a program through the school.
