Swarthmore's Public Safety and administration take a very lenient stance on almost all aspects of campus life. Underage drinking and drug use generally do not create many problems on campus, and the College usually turns a blind eye to it if a minor problem arises. Students are much more likely to get in trouble with Swarthmore borough police than campus Public Safety. The borough police tend to take their jobs a little too seriously and often go out of their way to bust Swarthmore students. Generally, though, infractions only include parking tickets or noise violations. This is simply another reason why students who choose to venture into downtown Swarthmore should use their head.
The College does take a pretty tough stance on cheating due, in part, to an unofficial college honor code that is supposed to be strongly upheld by faculty and students alike. Also, because of the rampant spread of viruses on campus, pirating music is strictly forbidden on any campus computer. The second strictest aspect is parking, so make sure to check out the parking policies or you might have to pay a parking ticket.
