| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
The Career Services office is a great tool regardless of which year you are in. The workers there do everything from help with the basics of creating a strong cover letter and/or résumé to helping you find a major or job best suited for you. They also help seniors with graduate school applications. The office also has a lot of internship databases complied for students. It is a great idea to start early because most of the top internships and jobs begin as early as possible.
Since it is a small school, only those who act fast and approach the right people on campus for a job will actually get one. The best advice is to e-mail people early for information and an opportunity for a job on campus. On-campus jobs range from working at a snack bar to being a grader, and internships usually consist of doing research with a professor. Other jobs on campus include hosting a student for an overnight stay, working in the library, McCabe, or the snack bar, Essie Mae's, being a grader or tutor for an academic department, and various other jobs.
