Guys & Girls:
There is a lot of variety in the types of girls on campus from pretty girls to alternative ones. Most of the guys on campus are from Hampden Sydney and are very preppy and only come to the campus to party or be with the girls who invited them.

Most students rely on making friends with someone who has a car or bringing their own car in order to provide for their transportation needs.

It is really hard to get off campus to find food options other than fast food and chain restaurants due to the rural location of the school.

No one here judges you whether you do or don't drink.

Choosing an all girl's school is not for everyone. However, I do enjoy the intimacy with professors here due to small class sizes and the convenience of such a small campus. On the other hand, if I could choose it again I would choose a less rural campus where socializing was easier.

Most of the year the weather is pretty humid, but only moderately hot or moderately cold. There are however a few days a year of really hot or really cold weather.

There are different ethnic groups on campus and girls of different sexual orientation. Everyone seem to find their niche easily.

The facilities on campus are average. However, the architecture on campus and the scenery is one of the school's strong points.

The tech support here is very accessible and they have good and convenient hours. They even offer free classes to students and faculty to better their technology knowledge.

If you are able to get off campus to Lynchburg which is the biggest and closest thing that resembles a city it takes about 25 minutes. Otherwise you are on campus most of the time and it is painfully remote with not a lot of interaction with outside sources. Its up to the student to go out and be social.

The financial aid department messed up the forms that were needed to turn in multiple times. And they gave confusing information about scholarships that were received and which ones would apply. However, once it got sorted out I received the financial aid that I needed.

The housing on campus is average. There is a group kitchen and at least one lounge for every dorm but nothing special. The rooms are a bit on the small side and the old buildings make for squeaky floors and lots of bugs and dust.
College Freshman 2013-11-07T19:28:27Z
There are always a lot of spots. Most people do not need to drive to class because the campus is so small but if you need to there are always spots available.

There are currently birds that have taken the dining hall as their new house. I get scared that they might poop on my food while eating, also being an athlete by the time practice is over and I get to the dining hall there is little to no food left- very slim pickings. You have to pick and choose between what the edible food is.
There's the main dining area and a small bistro on campus. The main dining hall is pretty good but sometimes the food is iffy. Some days it can be a guessing game on whats edible. But the bistro has never disappointed. While it has a simple menu it's still quite good. Worst thing there can be the wait for food.

A majorly white campus but with quite a few international students and those of other races. Being such a small campus it's not too hard to ind some diversity. It's just not a high percentage.

Student parking is decent, however, campus safety is too strict when students park in employee parking.

Guys & Girls:
Sweet Briar is an all girls school. There is a lot of diversity on our campus.

When it comes to parties on campus, our Campus Safety officers are always walking around the parties when it is unnecessary to do so.

Sweet Briar College offers shuttles multiple times a week, free of cost. The shuttles travel to different cities around Sweet Briar to ensure that all students are able to get their needs. Taxis can also be called for students, which usually are around or under the cost of fifty dollars.

Academics are a top priority at Sweet Briar College. I am majoring in History and minoring in Government. The workload is intense with lots of papers and reading. However, none of it is busy work. The professor's goals for all their students is to be prepared for our jobs after college. Due to the small class sizes, such as one of my 300 lvl history class of 5 people, I receive a lot of individual attention.

We don't have a Greek life at Sweet Briar College as it is an all girls school.

Athletics is pretty high for Sweet Briar College. Our riding teams are especially well known as SBC is ranked one of the top riding schools in the nation. Anyone can make the teams if they work hard enough. Most everyone who rides at school will also turn out to the local horse shows to support their friends.

Sweet Briar College is a very small all girls liberal arts college. Small class sizes means that you really have to work hard. Every professor knows your name and because of the type of school SBC is, your success is a top priority. No one is able to "pass through the cracks" and the professors make you fall in love with their subjects. If I have a question, Profs. are always available and willing to spend hours helping you with a paper if thats what you need.
