There are currently birds that have taken the dining hall as their new house. I get scared that they might poop on my food while eating, also being an athlete by the time practice is over and I get to the dining hall there is little to no food left- very slim pickings. You have to pick and choose between what the edible food is.

There's the main dining area and a small bistro on campus. The main dining hall is pretty good but sometimes the food is iffy. Some days it can be a guessing game on whats edible. But the bistro has never disappointed. While it has a simple menu it's still quite good. Worst thing there can be the wait for food.

The food at Prothro Dining Hall really isn't that great. It's kind of monotonous and doesn't even taste that great most nights. However, we have a really great made-to-order sandwich station, at breakfast you can get made-to-order eggs (including omelets, and you can even get pancakes on the weekends), and there are special things that are served every week that are great (the Sweet Briar doughnuts come to mind). The Houston Bistro is a killer health-wise and you only get three meals there each week on the meal plan (that's in addition to Prothro meals, BTW), but it tastes good, it has milkshakes, it's open until ten (perfect for getting study munchies if you're a night owl who likes to study in Babcock or Guion). Daisy's Cafe has really good coffee (a lifesaver for those poor souls who have 8:00 AM classes) and a fair number of snacks, as well as being open until ten Sunday through Thursday, but be aware that Daisy's is NOT on the meal plan and the prices are only a little better than Starbucks. Unless you have a near-endless stream of income you're going to want to keep from buying much at Daisy's unless you want a treat or something to keep you awake.

This gets the plus for their effort to improve.
In my opinion, the worst part about SBC is the lack of a meal plan option; there's one option (if you live in the main part of campus, it's 19 meals a week; in Green Village it's a lot less).
For people like me, that's a horrific amount of money wasted. I pay for breakfast that I don't go to, ever, five days a week. It'd be nice to have to pay for fewer meals.
Aside from that, the food is improving, but still rather lackluster.
My favorite thing is the sandwich station...it's kind of like a college Subway.
There's also a lot of things to make nice salads.
I don't eat meat here, at all, and the vegetarian/vegan options really aren't that eclectic /:

Your options are Prothro and the Bistro. Unless you're willing to pay out of pocket, the Bistro is only good for three meals before you start paying. Prothro, for the most part isn't great. Randomly, there will be food for lunch and dinner but the only enjoyable meal there is breakfast.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
