Sweet Briar College offers shuttles multiple times a week, free of cost. The shuttles travel to different cities around Sweet Briar to ensure that all students are able to get their needs. Taxis can also be called for students, which usually are around or under the cost of fifty dollars.

There is no public transportation going to Sweet Briar, but Co-Curricular Life runs shuttles to Wal-Mart and various areas of Lynchburg, as well as to events in Lynchburg and Charlottesville. Similarly, the Chaplain's Office runs shuttles to and from the Lynchburg airport and train station before and after breaks. However, you're probably going to want a car if you can get one, because inevitably you will need something or want to go to Sheetz or something and you won't be able to go on a shuttle because there isn't one running.

You can have your own car on campus all four years. They provide shuttles to places like Walmart and Target about every week. You can request for a shuttle to be scheduled to go to a certain place. We're sort of in the middle of nowhere so it takes a while to get places.

There are many options to travel outside of campus on shuttles. Every week there are shuttles to the mall, Walmart, Target, and even to the next town over. Since the campus is remote it is better to have your own car, but the shuttles are all free. It helps a a student of low income if they cannot afford the gas or parking permits for the year.
