College Prowler Take
If you were to go on a tour of SU, the tour guides would deliberately highlight certain facilities on campus and avoid others. They’d show you every nook and cranny of the Schine Student Center, while merely breezing by Archbold Gymnasium. Schine has a lot to offer: the food court is impressive, the bookstore is great for picking up class materials, and there is a box office for buying tickets to any lectures, concerts, or other shows that pass through the SU campus. Also in Schine is the Panasci Lounge on the second floor—perfect for relaxing, sleeping, studying, or just watching the beautiful scenery of SU during a snowfall. Also in the student center is a coffee lounge, a large auditorium where concerts are held, and a computer lab. The buildings on the campus, especially the older ones, can be breathtaking in their architecture. The Crouse building looks like a castle, and the Hall of Languages is a beautiful piece of history. The buildings of SU epitomize how a college campus should look. Archbold Gymnasium is quite a bit less appealing for the average student. Although the pool is notable in its size, the actual exercise area is small and located on a converted basketball court. There is a wide selection of treadmills and elliptical machines, but the free weights are sprawled about the gym and the circuit-type machines are all typically being used. A one-hour workout can turn into a two-hour affair simply because of the lack of equipment and organization.

Some facilities are nicer than others since some of the buildings are older than others. The main library is Bird, and it's generally a good place to get work done on the upper floors.

Bird Library is not a good place...
Bird Library is not a good place to work. There are no outlets for your computer, and it is always loud and full. The Carnegie Reading Room is usually pretty quiet if you actually want to work. Archbold gym is nice, but it can get really busy if you go at the wrong time. Schine Student Center is hideous but in a pretty good location. There are extension bookstores if you don't want to hike over there.

The facilities are really nice....
The facilities are really nice. The computers are good, the student center has pretty much everything you could need, and the gym has a pool and huge weight room. In addition, you can take physical education classes for credit in any sport from golf to kickboxing to horseback riding. |

The student center is nice. It’s got a bookstore, a computer lab, a food court, a game room, an auditorium, a student lounge, and a bunch of offices. The gym isn’t great, but it’s not horrible. It’s an older gym, and they really need a new one, but they have a lot of treadmills and elliptical machines, so I never had any issues with it. |

Computer clusters are often crammed. Student center? Where? Schine is not nearly big enough to be called a student center. |
FactsWhat To Do on Campus
Generally during the week, students are busy with work, homework, and attending class. However, during certain times throughout the year, there are campus-wide lectures that students may attend, concerts in the Shine Underground, basketball games during the spring semester, football games in the fall, and playing sports on the Quad at the end of the year. Most students also find Marshall Street quite convenient and a hip place to go for food and shopping. Although, it is not really apart of the University, it does sit within the University boundaries.
Favorite Things To Do
Eat and dance at Funk N’ Waffles(located on Marshall Street), attend athletic games (football, basketball or lacrosse), lounge on the Quad.
