College Prowler Take

SU has a laundry list of good qualities about it and very few flaws. The main thing to remember is that SU and its students refuse to be pigeonholed. There are so many varying interests at Syracuse University, as well as a broad array of extracurricular activities. People can’t even agree on what major is the most prestigious (although many claim communications or architecture). Still, although there is a broad range of people at SU, there usually is a consensus on one thing: people at Syracuse University really like it. Sure, there are different reasons, but almost everyone who spends a few years at SU enjoys it.

Some like the choices in classes, while others like the prominent sports teams on campus. Some like the appeal of a real college campus in the middle of a big city. No one comes for the weather. And besides the few reasons a student will specifically seek out Syracuse University, there are a broad number of factors that keep students here. The on-campus and off-campus housing is excellent, the computer facilities are top-notch, and the nightlife can be a major draw. Also, students generally have a lot of genuinely interesting events going on around campus. Whatever the reason, students who come to SU tend to stay here.

I have wanted to go to SU since I was a kid. I'm a senior, and the school has not disappointed me. As a student in the business school, I'm amazed at the seemingly endless opportunities that will undoubtedly prepare any student for a successful career. The professors know what they're doing and many have real-world experience, which brings a new element to the classroom. The business simulation games and assignments are on par with those taught in MBA programs and some, like the Capstone Business Simulation, are used in corporations nationwide. Yeah, the weather sucks, but don't let it discourage you. Overall, SU is a great university. There's no school I'd rather be at.

SU is a really good school academically. I love the program that I’m in, but that’s about it. I hate the people here, I hate the atmosphere, and I hate the weather, but if you are into Greek life and snobs, I would say that SU is the school for you.

I loved Syracuse and wish I had stayed there. I went to Penn State for two years, and it just didn’t compare.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ve loved every second of it. Syracuse is just so much fun, and you’re getting a great education at the same time.

I love SU. Be sure to pick your major early because if you switch from, let’s say, the College of Arts and Sciences into the VPA program, you could get caught having to stay an extra year due to different program setups. I love it there, and I wish I were back there now.
