I'm currently taking an online Psychology course. There are many opportunities for optional learning, and the instructor is always available to comment on your work. Forum discussions are graded, and further encourage critical thinking on the part of the student.

There is a wide variety of people at my school. From running start students still in high school, people trying to save money on transfer degrees, to older individuals looking to switch careers, TCC is a diverse environment.

One of the best things about TCC is that all of the credits are easily transferable to other universities, particularly University of Washington. There's a good set of options for getting a decent base in nearly all subjects. I've found that there are very few options for philosophy or linguistics courses, though.

There's a very diverse student body at this school. There are people of a wide range of ages, ranging from those still in high school to people who are retired and looking to challenge themselves. Most people tend to also hold jobs off campus to supplement their academic careers.

I haven't used the career services. However, there are e-mails sent out on a regular basis about local career opportunities, so I assume they're good.

For some reason I personally just don't do well in online classes. They have a distinct schedule (depending on the teacher) but the software they use often has technological issues and most of the teachers and students still don't know how to operate it. You have to really look and work to do well in an online class, and teachers can take up to a week to reply to your questions.

Really good with on- and off-campus events, very club oriented and there's almost always something going on. Some teachers are good, some are not so good, but they're flexible in your class choices and you can arrange it to your schedule, and if you do the work you'll get the education. The people are very friendly and you can almost instantly find friends if you're looking.

Most of the instructors are excellent at explaining what is needed and when, but unfortunately there have been a few that not. Taking classes online the communication needs to be a high priority there have a couple that would get back for three or four days after asking a question. Out of all my online classes, most of my instructors have been excellent.

I really didn't get involved in this area. From what I can tell, they offer quite a bit of activities in which you can get involved.

I found it hard to sit down and take the time to study. In a classroom you have the teacher going over everything. The one good thing was not commute.

The instructors, by and large, are great. They will work with students to get the students understanding the material. Registration is easy but core classes do fill up quickly.

I haven't graduated so I couldn't tell you how Tacoma Community College stacked up.
College Junior 2013-08-20T10:27:20Z
The classes are fine, there are many classes but classes fill up very quickly and it can be difficult to get the classes you need at a time that is convenient.

The normal student at my school just goes to school and works a job at the same time, but somehow still finds a way to have time to study and maintain good grades. We are at this school for one reason alone, and that is to obtain an education so we can pursue our future careers.

I will talk about the library at Tacoma Community College. There is a range of books that you can borrow from the library. When you walk in, you can also ask to use a textbook for two hours. This is good for the students who cannot afford to buy the school's unecessarily expensive textbooks. In this library, there is also a computer lab availible for usage. There are also areas for groups to work, and these groups always have priority in these areas.

At Tacoma Community College, they a program called the Casa Trio program, which is where I get a lot of the help that I need. This program helps with book loans, calculator loans, financial aid, scholarships, and even grants too. The Casa lab has its own computer lab for students in the Casa Trio program. This program has been very helpful to me as a student here at Tacoma Community College.

Whenever I need to complete an assignment at school, I go to the Information Commons in building number 16. I can always rely on the computers in this area, for they never fail on me.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education that I am recieving at this scholl is worth the money that is being paid. There are some outstanding teachers at this school that are not shy about giving help to their students. I really enjoy myself at this school with some of the instructors. Just make sure that you fill out your financial aid forms out in a timely matter, because if you don't, then they will deny you financial aid.

My Academic experience in Tacoma community collage has been really good. I am majoring in arts and sciences associates degree at the time , this school has been really helpful in specific classes i need. All classes I have taken are based on my degree , they include information about advising educational programs that are helpful. The work and job offerings at this school are based on classes you take and good opportunities according to your educational field. It takes a lot of dedication to accomplish all the task but this school makes you feel comfortable education wise.

At Tacoma community collage the student body is hard working and kind. I have meet a lot of class mates that were willing to help out in school work. And that were willing to have study groups for big tests. I feel like all the students are not based on racism or religion. Students in this particular school are really based on getting their education and have a lot of respect.

In Tacoma community collage the career services is reliable and helpful. They provide job information , career paths after college, and assistance after collage. I feel like they need a couple of more people helping out students person to person. But the career service is very well stable for needed help.

Being a student interested in Astrophysics, or (Physics and Astronomy) I find that having only one Astronomy class at this college to be very limiting as even though I'll transfer with my Physics degree I'll need to play catch up on the Astronomy side being that only having Intro to Astronomy under my belt will put me almost 2 years behind on the Astronomy side of my intended Major(s).

This school has a lot of clubs, activities, and sports. This is the best community college in pierce county.
