The average Taylor student is fairly reserved and, to some extent, a little awkward by standards of the outside world. Since Taylor exists in what amounts to a nearly-homogeneous bubble, the students generally fall under similar descriptors like, "conservative," "friendly," and "slightly eccentric."
The ratio of guys to girls is close to even, with the girls edging out the guys by a couple hundred or so. (Men: mathematically, this is called "good selection.") Though it might seem that this would lend itself to a campus filled with men and women pairing off perfectly, it really doesn't; a significant portion of the student body remains single for quite a while during their time at college, opting to develop deep, lasting friendships with the opposite sex rather than shallow, unhealthy romantic relationships. Furthermore, almost all relationships between guys and girls—romantic or otherwise—are extremely respectful. The men of Taylor University are often chivalrous and kind, regardless of their romantic interest. (Ladies, you very well might go four years without once needing to open a door to an academic building for yourself.)
