Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

This is a great time to come to Temple, especially if you are involved in athletics. The football team has finally been revitalized and could possibly crack the "top 25" over the next few years. The basketball team has made it to the NCAA tournament more than 25 times and is usually guaranteed one huge home upset a season, which makes for an exciting time.

Of course, these "revenue" sports get the most attention, but the rest of the sports teams definitely hold their own, boasting All-Americans and multiple national contenders. The camaraderie surrounding sports at Temple makes you feel as if you are a part of a community with every game you go to. There are opportunities to see all of the other sports compete, even the track and crew teams, in various events throughout the city, which also makes for an adventure.

We Love Temple Athletics

We love Temple Athletics! Everyone makes a point to go to the football and basketball games, but there is also a large fan base for other sports such as volleyball, field hockey, and baseball as well! Our school is a division 1 school and sports play a large rule in school pride. There are many gyms on campus, as well as a new facility on Cecil B. Moore. They are easily accessible and very convenient to go to in between classes. They are open to all Temple students!

SPORTS ARE AWESOME

The athletic teams are great. Most notable would be the Temple Basketball Team and the Football Team. The school spirit and [passion behind our sports team are great and that is only because they are great.

School Spirit

One major beauty about Philly is the amazing school pride from all the schools here. Temple University does not lack when it comes to school pride and school spirit. Football and basketball games are key ways to bring every students of all race and types out as one. My favorite moments of Temple were going to games and cheering on the teams.

School Spirit

You cannot tell a Temple student that he or she doesn’t attend the best college in Philly. Drexel students are a bunch of nerds, and UPenn students are snobs. As far as the other colleges go, they don’t even get mentioned. Temple is very much full of school spirit. From the decorated dorm rooms of Temple paraphernalia to the painted bodies at games, Temple students are proud to be owls. Almost all students have a Temple sweatshirt, and some also even have a hat, folder, and sweatpants. This is definitely not the school for you if you can’t see yourself loving the cherry and white colors.

Getting Tickets

For basketball tickets, Temple offers the best seats at a discount to a party of 10 or more. Everyone stands outside and waits until morning for tickets. This is our “March Madness.” Otherwise, tickets are free, and sometimes you can get a coupon to invite another person. For more information, call (215) 204-8499.
