Public Transportation Is Pretty Good

The subways in Philadelphia run north and south along the entire city, the only problem is getting east and west in certain areas (especially up north where Temple campus is). You have to take a cab because the area is too dangerous to walk through. The subways stop running at midnight but buses run all night for the same price. I would NOT recommend having a car because it's way too expensive to keep at school and parking on the streets is almost impossible, plus a lot of cars get broken into if they're not parked in the garage.

A Taste of the City

Temple gives students a pretty good variation of different types of students, from race to religion. The school is like a little clip of what the City of Philadelphia has to offer on a much smaller scale. If you are interested in multi-cultural experiences, events, and programs Temple is full of them. We are located in a very liberal city, and this reflects strongly in the teaching I have experienced. If you are an ultra-conservative republican, you will probably not want to major in anything in the College of Liberal Arts, School of Communications, or any other creative types of programs. Even the business and econ. departments are on the liberal side.

Great Nighlife

Temple University has a lot to do for both students that are under 21 and 21 and older. The city life offers a lot of options on the weekends for students.
