Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There is a large amount of Greek associations on campus. They vary from cultural to professional to academic fraternities and sororities. With such a large population, they do not dominate the campus. You can see the Greeks shine during annual events such as Homecoming and Spring Fling, where these clubs show off their colors and letters. Greeks are also known for their parties, offering those who can’t get into bars and clubs another option for something to do at night. The campus seems to be divided on its feelings toward the Greeks. While some people find Greek life to be an incredible experience, others feel as though members are secretive and cliquish.

It's best for students interested in joining the Greeks to get to know a member of a fraternity or sorority. They aren’t as cliquish or intimidating as some people may think. These organizations also have events such as dating-game shows and bachelor auctions. Many students prefer professional fraternities because they help make connections with alumni and non-alumni in professional fields. They are also a reliable source for resume help and internships. Fraternities are supposed to provide community service, though most students at Temple don’t recognize them doing much.

Get With the Greeks

Temple doesnt have a large number of Greek organizations that are not for academics

Sororities cant have houses cause its illegal in PA to have more than a certain amount of women living in a house cause its considered a brothel. Sorority girls are always together and get along great from what I notice. The girls always hold fundraising events

Frats have the houses, and dont always have parties, but when they do theyre pretty fun. Frat guys live at the frats after their freshman year; some do, some dont. They have MANY fundraisers going all the time.

The Greeks, especially the guys, can be very cocky though and think theyre better than the non-greeks even though theres no reason to think that. can get annoying, but its not that bad

Unnoticeable

I haven't heard of the Greek Society at Temple. I'm not greatly involved in Temple sororities and I've never felt pressured to be in one in order to fit in. It's cool because at Temple everyone can do their own thing.
