| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
Signing up for the listserv within your major is a good way to find internships and jobs, but keep in mind that every student signed in receives the email. Use it to your advantage as a foundation to finding your dream job or internship. Joining an academic club is a great opportunity to meet people in the industry and within your school. Most of these clubs are nationally-acclaimed and hold events and lectures that can help enlighten you to possible career goals. This is an awesome way to network and make connections. Getting experience is valuable to finding a job. Sacrifice the mall job for a good internship, even if it is non-paid and not your first option. It’s difficult to think long term, but a few dollars in your pocket today isn’t worth anything if it doesn’t help you get the career you want in your future.
