Cheapest Place to Get a Drink
Most clubs have specials on certain nights
College Prowler Take
Temple students can find a frat party any day of the week. Organizations throw parties on a weekly basis for a few dollars. For good bars, South Street has a wide selection. The Draught Horse is located on campus at Cecil B. Moore on Broad Street. They have daily drink specials, karaoke night, live music, and great food. Security is tight, so have ID. As far as clubs, there definitely is an age group difference with the regular nights and the underage nights. However, different genres of music are played at these clubs on certain nights, so it’s up to the student to decide which is more important to their club atmosphere of choice: the company they’re keeping or the beats they’re listening to. To make the best of the party scene, check out the parties thrown by students from different schools in the area. Faces might become redundant, but the music and atmosphere are better than any club or bar. It also makes your transportation needs a bit more reliable, since Temple has shuttle services. For those students under 21, the nightlife option is limited to just the house parties and whatever events different campus organizations have. Most students find this isn’t much of a problem, and anyone can be kept entertained by the amount of stuff on campus. It can also save you from spending a ton on transportation, cover charges, and drinks.

If there is one place I really like to go, it is Dave & Buster’s. You can eat, drink, and play games there. |

Campus parties do become old after a while, and I’ll say this: Temple loves to party, and we will travel to whatever party is good on a particular day. It sucks also, because then, everywhere you go, you see the same people all the time. After a while, it’s like picking up your dorm and moving it to another campus for about five hours or so. |

Nightlife is pretty good. With the clubs, South Street, and other schools nearby, there’s a fairly good amount of things to do. I won’t say it’s great all the time, but there are some things to get into. |

Nightlife was cool if you found places that fit your style. I just wish stuff stayed open later than 2 a.m. |

Nightlife is there for students 21 plus. There are a few 18-and-older clubs on Delaware Avenue, but then you got high school students in there. Your best bet, early on, is a school party here or at Penn, Drexel, Villanova, and other neighboring schools or with friends that live off campus. |
FactsClub Crawler
The nightclubs in Philly all seem to have the same theme or vibe—you’ll find yourself disgusted by the amount of high school kids, as well as the old men hitting on them. A few are okay if you really need to go to a bar, but the scene is just not worth it.
Bar Prowler
Bars are more popular for Temple students, especially since there is one on campus.
Organization Parties
There are a lot of parties thrown by organizations on a weekly basis. Most are thrown by Greeks in a rented space, but they are definitely a favorite of the students. Other organizations throw parties on campus, but the cost to rent a hall is expensive, so only a few large parties are thrown each semester. The Main Campus Program Board and the Temple Student Government are the two largest organizations on campus. They are responsible for most of the parties, events, lectures, and movies on campus.
