College Prowler Take
Timing is everything when it comes to finding an ideal location on campus. Temple does offer parking facilities to the students for a small fee every semester. Students find their best bet might be to depend on other means of transportation, unless they can shell out the parking lot fee. There are many students who live on campus that also own cars, so that’s twice the struggle to find a space. Those that are willing to shell out for the parking lot find it to be a wise choice; however, many students find that the spaces are tiny, making it hard to come in and out of. There haven’t been too many reports of cars scratching other cars, but if you do become part of this case, there is nothing that can rectify the situation. To be on the safe side, give a space between you and the parallel car, even it means parking towards the back of the lot. Some students who have bought lot spaces find that in order to get their desired lot, they had to make the purchase early. Often students find that if they wait too long, they end up in a lot that is far away from their dorms or classes. There are many students who do not purchase spaces, but instead use meters; however, this means there are many students hunting down only a few meters. The only way to ensure parking is by buying a spot in the lot.

I didn’t have a car, so I don’t really know, but I had some friends who drove, and they used to complain because unless you got to campus early, like 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. early, you were out of luck when it came to a decent spot. So if you don’t have class until 11 a.m., then you decide if you want a good spot and kill three hours somehow, instead of sleeping or doing something else. |

I would pay the money for parking—I don’t care. I don’t trust any of the streets around school. At least if I parked in a lot, a thief would have the decision of choosing a car better than mine. |
