Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.

Love It Here

I love Temple University, its its own city within a huge city. The diversity here is great, I am always meeting new people from different ethnicity, genders, sexual orientation, backgrounds and lifestyles. The staff are easily available for office hours and there is always a great communication system via email. The campus is beautiful and when it gets nice out everyone goes out and lays on the beach (not an actual beach a vast amount of grass land that students lay on to read, relax, and enjoy each other). My experience here at Temple is amazing, I wouldn't trade my school for any other.

Love It!

If you want a school with a lot of cultural experiences, a strong staff of business professionals and the taste of being in the city I would recommend coming to Temple. You get the feel of what it is like to live in the middle of the city right along Broad Street. But if you are looking for that typical "college" feel with lots of grass and ivy and boys in khakis throwing frisbees you should look somewhere else. We have concrete and spray paint artists hanging out on our campus.

Interesting

Temple's location is what makes it an interesting place to go to school. Once you step foot off campus its quite the experience, and sometimes you have to really be sure to have your guard up. But being so close to Center City Philadelphia has got to be one of the greatest things ever; not only are there opportunities to go to concerts, eat at cool restaurants and bars, but being near the city has been tremendous for students looking for internships and real world experience.
