Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

On-campus housing at TSU is not the best aspect of the school; however, the students who live on campus seem to be pretty happy with their living arrangements. The dorms are really nothing to brag about. The rooms are really small, but they are not terribly out-of-date, and they are kept pretty clean. There are Internet and cable hookups, as well. In all honesty, there is not much room, but if you try and save some space for the wardrobe, finding a place for the computer and TV should not be a problem. Each student must have a student ID to get into their dorm, and they are pretty strict in making sure everyone who is there belongs there. After midnight the dorms calm down a bit, unless it’s before or after a football game, of course. Most students seem to be satisfied with the dorms, aside from the rooms being so small. TSU definitely needs to improve on the guys’ dorms, though. Boyd Hall is an absolute nightmare for the guys, and most of them are looking for other living arrangements after their first year.

The students who live on campus spend four years there, unless they can afford to move off campus. If you are interested in getting the full college experience, consider living on campus, but think really long about it, because there is nothing worse than getting a horrible roommate! If you want to experience TSU mostly for academics, consider living off campus, because you will have much more privacy.

Rudolph Female Dorm

The atmosphere of Rudolph at Tennessee State University is that of unfriendly nieghbors and suite mates yet there are positive points because the bathrooms are great but were not allowed visitation and the rooms are small.

Dorms Are What You Make It

The best feature for the dorms is that they are close to everything going on on campus.Other than that, there was nothing I liked about them.

Dorm Hall Tsu

Our dorm halls are not very modern at all. We have a average lobby, it's cool. I enjoy the history of it sometimes, but come on now, it's 2011, time for a upgrade. Tuition is very expensive, actually too expensive for our living conditions.
