Parking Depends on the Day and Time

We get free parking decals but the need for a car is not a necessity as long as you know someone with a car.

Everyone dresses the same, I feel like no one has a mind of there own to dress different out of fear of being judged or ridiculed, everyone feels as if they need to be in a large group everywhere they go to feel secure and not alone they do not have enough sense to stand alone and think for themselves at least some of the time , I feel as if no one is secure with themselves enough to be by themselves.

TSU Campous Life

Tsu's campus life is filled with fun and excitement. But the dorms and campus amenities such as; elevators classrooms, cafe, etc. could use some work.

Pure Luck

Campus parking is tough. If you're not at school early, let's say around 7:30-8:00am, then parking will be definitely hard to find on any given weekday.

I really don't care for the campus food personally, yet there are lots of people that can say it's good. The dining hall is very big and always clean.

TSU doesn't have many parties on campus. Most parties are in various areas of Nashville. Downtown probably offers the best spots for parties, especially on Second Avenue. I don't go to clubs in Nashville as much as I used to because it seems to be the same crowd and sometimes the prices are ridiculous.

There are only two dorms worth...

There are only two dorms worth living in, and one of those is only for females. The other is coed. The other dorms are similar and old. Elevators tend to break down often in these dorms.

TSU is a HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), so the population is mostly African American. The students are great, but some need an extra boost from high quality professors that are here for the students. The women outnumber the men by a landslide, so things get a bit heated. Overall, it is okay.

Initially, the parties off campus are wild, fun, and often exciting. There are no parties on campus which sounds good but is really not. Second Avenue, Printers Alley, and a few other areas around town are cool places to hang.

There are quite a few quality restaurants in the area, and they offer a wide selection of food choices. There are some handy value menus and a food market within the area. Some good spots are Sir Pizza, TJ's, Nuttin but Wings, Swett's, and Harper's.

It plays a huge role at TSU. I'm in a sorority, and it has shaped my life. At our school, there are the Greeks and then the randoms, which is mean to say but that's how it goes. Everyone wants to feel included. There are tons of parties and equally as much community service, but people don't see that part.

The parties are okay. There are many different bars to choose from, but my favorite would have to be The Corner Bar.

The dorms are not very good in my opinion. I believe that it has something to do with the people that are living in the dorm with you as well. I would definitely avoid Boyd Hall and Watson, if possible for males. Hale Hall is the way to go because you share a bathroom with your suitemates unlike the community bathrooms in the others.

The atmosphere is nice in Nashville. There is something for everyone no matter your interests, and Nashville is still growing. While in Nashville, you can find plenty of tasty restaurants, shopping areas, and a downtown area that is filled with the sounds of music and laughter. TSU is near Vanderbilt, Fisk, Belmont, and a few other schools, so there is definite interaction between the students.

Football seems to be hold a rich tradition on campus, but the band is really the highlight of games. All the other sports kind of fall into place behind it as far as popularity is concerned. Intramural sports seem to be fun. There is usually a great number of people who sign up for the intramural basketball every year.

Sexually, TSU is pretty diverse being that females outnumber males. There are homosexuals, but they usually stay with their small groups or to themselves. Ethically, the most predominant race is African American, but there are others. In my opinion, everyone is on the same level economically.

Greek life is okay at Tennessee...

Greek life is okay at Tennessee State. Most of the parties aren't really thrown by Greeks, but they do have their fair share. As far being Greek, I don't exactly believe it will affect you, but then again in some places it does have an influence.

Off-campus housing is way better...

Off-campus housing is way better than staying on campus. You just better have a car and be ready to pay bills.

Campus police are focused on parking and is not that strict on drugs violations.

There isn't a lot of variety among the men. Most of them from Memphis and aren't gentlemen, but there are a few attractive young men here.
