Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

TSU’s main campus is pretty big, and getting around it can sometimes take a while. The great thing about TSU’s campus is that your classes are pretty much all in a single area, so you don’t have to wander around very long once you’ve come from your parking spot. TSU also offers a shuttle service that is available every weekday at the main campus, which helps students who do not have transportation get downtown. The service also provides shuttles to the AWC and the downtown area; however, it is only offered until 6 p.m. on Saturday. The shuttles will take you downtown, but from the drop-off point you are on your own (although during school functions such as seminars, the shuttle will carry you to your destination and take you back to school). If you have a school-related trip, it is best to use a shuttle if there are more than 10 people going, just to save on gas and parking money. There are also inter-campus shuttles which will take you in between campuses, but the walk is not too long and it’s good excercise—as long as your books aren’t too heavy! There are lots of taxi cab companies around town, but if you are on a tight budget, it is really a better idea to use the MTA, the campus shuttle, or your own vehicle. Other students who have vehicles are usually pretty friendly about driving their friends around if they are going out, and in many cases one person is designated to drive to get something to eat late at night. There are student discounts available for public transportation, depending on the company and the time of year. The discount fees are usually 50 percent off the regular fare.

Carpool Is the Way to Go

Downtown Nashville is less than 10 min. away from campus. Riding with A friend would be the quickest and easiet way to go, if you intend on site-seeing and having a great time. The cost to get into clubs are usually around $10. There are many bars and clubs to attend. Tons of different types of people are walking around on club nights. Being so close to dowtown Nashvill;e is very convenient.

Shuttle Bus

The school provides a shuttle bus to the on-campus apartments or to the downtown campus. Other than that students have to find there own way to places.
