Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

If there is one thing you can depend on in Nashville, it is the weather changing. There are technically four seasons in Nashville, but the most predominate ones are summer and winter. In August, when school begins, it is extremely hot and dry (unless there is a hurricane coming through), so it is best to bring light, comfortable clothing and open shoes. In the summer, girls wear shorts and skirts and cute little tops in order to keep cool, because you may end up sweating walking to and from classes. Guys are usually in shorts and T-shirts, but they always look nicely groomed and well-kept. It is a good idea to bring a fan because you never know when a summer thunderstorm will knock out the electricity in your area. Springtime in Nashville is short, but beautiful. The mornings tend to be chilly, in the 50s, and the afternoons in the 70s, so it is a good idea to wear a second layer. Always remember to bring an umbrella because springtime is known for lots of showers with no warning whatsoever. Autumn is much the same, except it gets a lot hotter in the afternoon, with highs in the 80s. The winters are usually wet and cold, however. If you have a car, always remember to warm it up, because you do not want to be stuck somewhere on a 10 degree day. Nashville residents tend to get really moody during the wintertime because there is little to do socially, the skies are usually grey, and it is too cold to go out. The rest of the year, people are themselves and friendly toward others, but wintertime is not a jolly holiday season!

The weather is bi-polar. One day it's hot nd some days it's cold. You'll never know until you go outside.

Not to Bad

Weather is smooth on campus for must of the year. Of course summers are hot here in Tennessee, and most northerners have to adjust, but there is much to be enjoyed under the sun.Winters are still cold and the snow is often unpredictable, but the dorms stay warm.
