Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students agree that the food on campus is somewhere between average and good, and they appreciate the day-to-day variety. There are many dining facilities that offer several options, so don’t worry about getting tired of any particular dish. Here at A&M, you get the option of having meal plans and dining dollars. Dining dollars are like real money—you can use Dining Dollars to buy salads, coffee, and other stuff around campus, including the convenience store, Rattlers. There are even coffee shops and a Chinese stand that take meal plans or dining dollars. Meal plans can be expensive, but students do get a lot of food and options for the price.

There are several all-you-can eat cafeterias, giving A&M students the option of taste-testing as little, or as much, as they desire from semester to semester. There’s pizza, burgers, and everything you can think of that’s both tasty and fattening, and for those of you looking to fend off the Freshman 15, there are salad bars and delis where you can build your own healthy sandwiches. There are also vegetarian options and some vegan sections at Sbisa Dining Center, which also offers the best cookies—there’s not one student who isn't a fan of them. Probably the best-kept secret on campus is Cain Dining Hall in the athletic dorm. It’s only for student-athletes, so try to befriend someone who has access. Cain is becoming known as the best cafeteria on campus, and maybe the entire city. Tuesday is steak night—and there’s nothing like a good ’ol Texas-style slab of steak—but there are also other options available. Overall, don’t be afraid to try every eatery on campus when you first get to A&M—it’s the only way to see what’s out there and find what you like best.

Variety, but at a Price.

There is quite a few options, which Which Wich and Chic-fil-a being favorites. Be warned that a meal plan, while convenient, is only a thrifty idea if you actually use all your meal plans, so its better to get a smaller plan. Meals are generally sort of expensive on campus.

About to Close Food Places

A&M is doing a lot of remodeling and they are going to close down the Underground and the Commons which are two places to eat on the run. The only other option is in the library or the cafeteria but it takes a long time to eat at the cafeteria. Otherwise, the food is pretty good unless they added some more healthy options.

Antonio's Pizza

Best pizza place in town. Very close to campus, and has about 34 different types of pizza to choose from.
