College Prowler Take
Most students are very happy with the facilities at A&M. The libraries are nice, and the Memorial Student Center is the Grand Central Station of campus. It has everything you could possibly want, from practical things, like a post office, to the entertainment of a game room and bowling alley. The Rec Center is state-of-the-art. There is a rock-climbing wall inside, as well as a nicely stocked weight room, racquetball courts, inside and outside pools, and a hot tub. There is everything here that a student could possibly want, but there are negatives that go along with that, too.
The large portion of students’ tuition fees that goes into athletic facilities almost seems worth it, given the quality of the center. The libraries are so big that sometimes you can be standing around a million books and not find one that you need, but the workers are really helpful. All you need to do is ask, and they’ll stick by you until your research is done and you have what you need. Overall, the facilities are great. If a facility is not new already, it’s probably under construction for upgrades. A&M gives a lot of attention to making students happy and satisfied with their facilities.

I’m on the gymnastics team, and our facilities are okay, but it’s just a club sport, so they don’t really care too much about us. The computers are good and our MSC is really nice. |

I like the hot-tub the best, except sometimes there are really old people in it that pay for water-aerobics classes. |

The track is on the third floor and has really good terrain. It’s great to run on, because it’s always too hot outside. |

Facts
What To Do on Campus
Besides classes, you can hang out in the Memorial Student Center, “the living room” of Texas A&M, where there is a bowling alley, game room, visual art gallery, and much more. You can work out at the Recreation Center or take a long walk around campus. If you just feel like sitting around, you can always grab a cup of coffee and chat with friends.
Favorite Things To Do
Watch people do the dance arcade machine in the basement of the MSC. There are also lots of other games and a bowling alley. Students love to hang out at Rumors, go to events held by different student organizations, or just go to parties.
Movie Theater on Campus
- None, but there are movies shown at reduced prices sometimes.
Did You Know?
Don’t walk on the grass around the MSC or wear your hat inside it. The Memorial Student Center is a memorial for people who have died in our country’s wars. That may be the only time Aggies are mean—when they tell you to take off your hat or get off the grass.
The University has recently finished building an underground walkway tunnel for students to cross over to West Campus without being stalled by the train.
