College Prowler Take
Most people will notice the minute they step on campus that A&M has a collection of the prettiest people in the Southwest. Most of the guys and girls seem to be clean cut and conservative dressers, but you can find anything out of the thousands of students here. Due to the conservative atmosphere and influence of the Corps, you will find that welcoming southern hospitality all around town and on campus. Also, most of the guys are very chivalrous. It is very common for strangers to give up their seat on the bus to a lady and to hold doors open, even if the girl is 20 feet away. In fact, people may look at a guy funny if there is a lady standing next to him on the bus and he doesn’t give up his seat. That’s just the way things are here. Yes - The pill, the patch, and condoms are available through health services. The prices vary, depending on the specific product, but the pill ranges from $10 to $29 and condoms are 10 for $2—a very respectable price.
Social Scene
Between the southern hospitality you'll find on campus and the school pride that bonds all Aggies together, you'll find everyone on campus very welcoming. It might take you a little while to find the exact group that you fit in with best, but you won't have a hard time making friends on campus and finding people to hang out with.
Hookups or Relationships?
While you can certainly find both on campus, there are definitely more hookups than relationships. Most A&M students just want to have fun, but if you're more of a relationship-oriented person, you'll definitely be able to find someone else that also wants something more commitment-based than a one-nighter.
Dress Code
T-shirts are the chosen uniform for going to class. If you're going out at night, most people go semi-dressy—polos for guys and slacks or denim skirts for girls, but both wear flip-flops. Other than that, people wear whatever they're comfortable in.
