Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students at TCU are pleased with their education and the opportunities presented to them. While diversity continues to be an issue on campus, strong academics, good facilities, and countless organizations play a larger role in student life. To most students, TCU offers a strong academic foundation in a lively setting. Fort Worth and Dallas provide endless entertainment, while campus police and Froggie Five-O do their best to protect and serve the students on TCU’s campus. Students have a wide variety of living options, providing them with a great environment while earning their educations.

Don't be fooled by the name: TCU isn’t a stuffy church school. It’s a place where students are encouraged to try new things and branch out. A few numerous organizations—Greek ones in particular—tend to discriminate between social groups, but the overall student body is quite friendly. Academically, students are eager to learn, and a small student-faculty ratio allows students to interact closely with each of their professors. In the long run, many TCU students truly appreciate the campus for what it is and tend to view it as an experience like no other. It sure is good to be a Horned Frog!

Completely Safe

TCU is completely safe! From every point on campus, you can see at least two emergency phones. Also, at night, girls can call Froggy Five-O to get a ride to anywhere on campus so that they don't have to walk around campus alone. I have never had any issues with crime and I always feel very safe.

I Love Fort Worth!

Fort Worth is an awesome city! It is a big city, but there is so much that is close to TCU that you don't have to venture too far off campus. One of my favorite places to go is West 7th. There are lots of restaurants and things to do. Fort Worth is also famous for its museums and its zoo. It is also only about 40 minutes away from Dallas, which has incredible shopping and also has tons to do. It is about 20 minutes away from Arlington, which has the Dallas Cowboys Stadium and the Rangers. The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is such a great place to go to school, and I love being up here!

Financial Aid Is a Joke

As I stated before they only give scholarships to athletes and those associated with athletic events (ie. band and cheerleading). They have always made me wait well past my appointment time to meet with an adviser and when I finally do get to see one all they tell me is there is nothing they can do and to try to come back some other time. They take FOREVER to award your financial aid for the academic year. They literally do not show you what you have been awarded until a week to a week and a half before school starts. Then, I have to figure out how I am going to pay the remainder all off or somehow make the ridiculously high monthly payments that have a late fee associated with them. I have to deal with all this bull while trying to obtain my school supplies and attending class. It is not worth it.
