Campus police officers are licensed Texas police officers and, therefore, uphold both TCU policies and state law. Campus police don’t generally go around with the sole purpose of catching intoxicated students or underage drinkers, but they will regulate students who pose a threat to themselves or others. The campus police have a low tolerance for drug and alcohol violations, but they do not typically go out of their way to bust students.

While the line may be blurred with alcohol (no pun intended), campus police take drug violations very seriously. The minimum penalty for a first-time violation is disciplinary probation for a year and a mandatory drug-abuse education and/or treatment program. While many students know people who drink or smoke pot, most students do not feel pressured to do drugs, and it is not a big part of campus life.

Fair Minded

Rules are place for the safety of all the students. If a consequence from administration or campus police is given, it is almost always because the student didn't know their own boundaries with drinking or just plain stupidity. Campus police are too strict with parking.

Some Rules Are Needed

The TCU police don't cause much of a scene. They are reasonable when it comes to underage drinking. The first time you a warning and a fine, the second time you get a letter to your parents or a drinking class, and third time your enrollment might be affected. I think that is very reasonable. Underage drinking in greek life has been a major concern of the whole campus and the police as well as the greek life staff have been cracking down on that.

Policies Aren't Bad

The policies at TCU aren't too strict, just enough to maintain order and a respectful atmosphere.
