College Prowler Take
Campus police officers are licensed Texas police officers and, therefore, uphold both TCU policies and state law. Campus police don’t generally go around with the sole purpose of catching intoxicated students or underage drinkers, but they will regulate students who pose a threat to themselves or others. The campus police have a low tolerance for drug and alcohol violations, but they do not typically go out of their way to bust students. While the line may be blurred with alcohol (no pun intended), campus police take drug violations very seriously. The minimum penalty for a first-time violation is disciplinary probation for a year and a mandatory drug-abuse education and/or treatment program. While many students know people who drink or smoke pot, most students do not feel pressured to do drugs, and it is not a big part of campus life.

The campus police are really cool, and as long as you don't walk around openly with alcohol or do drugs in front of the police no one cares. It's not a good idea to smoke weed in the dorms. Kegs are an automatic $1000 fine. Don't be loud and obnoxious and you will be fine.

The campus police can be strict when it comes to drinking and doing drugs, but you can tell it is because they are concerned for our safety. It's pretty serious if you get caught and gets more serious the more times you get caught. Just don't be obnoxious about it.

They are very strict about drugs—you will get expelled from school if you’re caught with them. They’re less strict about alcohol. You aren’t supposed to have it with you, but if caught, it’s like a $100 fine. |

The campus police aren’t kidding around when it comes to drugs and alcohol. If they see or hear of it, you are going to get into big trouble! |

Strictness
A+
In the dorms they will hand out violations if you get caught. Kegs in dorms are a huge fine. Saturday morning class and community service or fine. On campus though cops are a complete joke, they will not give you a ticket. Better to have a party busted by TCU cops than an actual RA. Depends on the RA but most are cool if you are just walking back home one night.
