College Prowler Take
Most TCU students do not consider drug use to be a major part of their life. Students who desire drugs, however, are able to find them. The most common drugs on campus are alcohol and marijuana. Hard drugs like cocaine and ecstasy are less common, but they occasionally surface. A survey conducted by the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education found that marijuana use is common among TCU students, but still under the national average. The drug scene at TCU is what students make of it. Those who do not wish to be involved rarely come in contact with drugs. Campus Police uphold strict guidelines for students who violate TCU’s alcohol and drug policy, ensuring student safety and stability.

The drug scene at TCU isn't that big. I have personally never been asked to try anything here. If people are doing drugs, it usually means they're smoking. Drinking is what most people prefer here.

I honestly never see anything. I'm sure at parties it's present but I've never seen or heard anything.

The drug scene is here, but it is...
The drug scene is here, but it is not a noticeable part of campus life at all. If someone is involved with drugs, they can find their group of people that also do it, like in any school. I have never felt pressured by anyone to do drugs on campus.

You don’t notice until you start...
You don’t notice until you start to go to parties, but people don’t pressure you. Many times, if you are new, people will offer you whatever—mostly marijuana. However, there is other stuff out there, like cocaine. If you deny it, they will say, ‘okay, cool’ and move on—they won’t blacklist you or anything. It’s not at every party, anyway. Most times, the druggies will go off into a private room to do their stuff. |

There are a lot of people who have tried pot. There are also a number who regularly use ecstasy. I hear there are several girls in each sorority, and no doubt elsewhere, who use cocaine. I would say the drug of choice on this campus, however, is alcohol. There are also a lot of people who are very sober. |
