College Prowler Take
From the Rickel Recreation Center to the Brown-Lupton University Union (BLUU), all of the popular places on campus have been renovated and revamped within the last several years. The Rickel Recreation Center features many of the newest machines and a variety of weights, as well as a climbing wall, saunas, and racquetball courts. The BLUU is also well equipped for many student affairs, but in reality, it may fail to provide enough variety in the restaurant department. Overall, campus is very well kept, and anything that hasn’t been renovated lately is sure to get its chance soon. The Rickel Recreational Center is of such high quality that alumni are given the opportunity to pay several hundred dollars annually to use the facilities. The library is home to 1.9 million volumes and an excellent online database, as well as the largest computer lab on campus. Other places on campus might not be quite as nice, but they are all, at the very least, sufficient.

Our rec center is amazing. It's relatively new with tons of equipment and courts. The cardio machines have personal televisions and there is an indoor track and weight room. There are a few basketball courts as well as racquetball and even a rock wall. You can even rent camping equipment from the rec. It offers many different cardio and yoga classes and the women's locker room has nice showers and even a sauna. There is an olympic-sized indoor pool as well as a nice outdoor pool area. The BLUU (Brown Lupton University Union) is brand new for the 2008-2009 school year and is huge with lots of meeting places and ballrooms. The library is old but comfortable with tons of study space and even a little snack bar on the first floor.

The facilities at TCU are very nice. Most buildings have either been recently renovated or newly built. If the building is old, the school makes sure the furniture and classroom atmosphere are kept up.

TCU has done so much renovation to the campus. The student center is amazing. The facilities were pretty underwhelming a few years ago, but the way they are now was a huge positive factor in my decision to go to TCU.

We have a nice recreation center. It has everything from a rock-climbing wall to saunas. Each aerobic machine has a 15-inch LCD screen attached to it, so you can watch whatever you want while working out. We have a new baseball stadium, our basketball facility is pretty nice, and our football stadium is huge! Many of the residence halls have been redone, and they are currently working on renovating and reopening one more. We also have two new academic buildings on campus. Even the oldest buildings have been upgraded and have plans for renovations. |

TCU has very nice facilities, except for the stupid computers in the reading lounge—do they ever work? |
FactsWhat To Do on Campus
Plays are often held in Ed Landreth Auditorium, Pepsico Recital Hall, or Hayes Theater. There are usually three performances per semester put on by our very own theater department. Most plays are free with a student ID, though you’ll have to pick up tickets a few weeks before to make sure that you get one in time for the performance. Student Government sponsors free movies, which are held on the lawn in front of Frog Fountain. Popular films from last year’s releases are chosen and displayed on a large screen. Free popcorn usually accompanies this event. Student recitals and concerts are held in Ed Landreth Auditorium during the year. They are free to students. Guest speakers occasionally come to campus. They usually speak at the BLUU Ballroom and are very often free to attend. Debates over various topics take place in the student center Lounge on a regular basis. These usually take place during the day, and many students walk through and observe the action on their way to class.
