Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The combined efforts of the campus police and Froggie Five-0 make TCU students feel safe on campus. The patrol service, which includes foot, bike, automobile, and even Segway patrol officers, ensures the 24-hour protection of students and University property. TCU also offers free self-defense classes for added safety. Despite these security measures, every now and then crime still occurs, mostly in the form of burglary.

TCU has made several security updates over the past few years to try and combat what crime we have on campus. Emergency phones and lampposts have been added along with Froggie Five-0. The Rape Aggression Defense system (RAD) helps female students take charge of their overall well being and provides tips and techniques for avoiding rape and assault. TCU’s police department works overtime to ensure student safety by updating existing resources and creating new programs for the benefit of the students.

Completely Safe

TCU is completely safe! From every point on campus, you can see at least two emergency phones. Also, at night, girls can call Froggy Five-O to get a ride to anywhere on campus so that they don't have to walk around campus alone. I have never had any issues with crime and I always feel very safe.

Safety & Health

The safety and security at Texas Christian University is great. TCU is always implementing ways to assure students are safe. For example, there are emergency phones placed all over campus and they also offer a service called Froggie Five-O is a student escort service which operates between the hours of 8:00pm and 1:00 am. If you need someone to walk with you anywhere or give you a ride to another part of campus, call Froggie Five-O. Many students use this service! The TCU campus police are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If at anytime TCU feels that the safety of the students could be harmed, they send out safety alerts via e-mail.

TCU Is Safe

There has never been an instance where I have felt unsafe at TCU. The police on campus constantly patrol all areas of the campus by car, foot and Segway. If you use common sense, such as don't walk alone at night if you're a female (use the free escort service), lock your doors, etc, chances are you won't run into trouble.
