Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The combined efforts of the campus police and Froggie Five-0 make TCU students feel safe on campus. The patrol service, which includes foot, bike, automobile, and even Segway patrol officers, ensures the 24-hour protection of students and University property. TCU also offers free self-defense classes for added safety. Despite these security measures, every now and then crime still occurs, mostly in the form of burglary.

TCU has made several security updates over the past few years to try and combat what crime we have on campus. Emergency phones and lampposts have been added along with Froggie Five-0. The Rape Aggression Defense system (RAD) helps female students take charge of their overall well being and provides tips and techniques for avoiding rape and assault. TCU’s police department works overtime to ensure student safety by updating existing resources and creating new programs for the benefit of the students.

Moderately Safe

We, as a student body, are notified of any crime activity that happens on campus or the outskirts of campus. This keeps us informed and helps us to remember to be cautious. Crime is not high. TCU does a great job with safety and security on campus. There are at least three emergency call boxes in view from any point a student stands on campus. Police escorts are always available.

Super Safe

TCU is a small campus with a very present police force. Froggy 5-0 provides safe rides at night for those walking by themselves.

TCU Safety

I have never felt unsafe at TCU. We have our own Campus Security and although their main concern is passing out parking tickets, it makes the campus feel a little safer. TCU always informs the student body whenever something does happen on campus such as car break ins or assaults. Instead of hiding the information, the campus informs the students of any possible threat. I have always appreciated that. TCU is located in a city, however, and any city is going to have a higher crime rate.
