College Prowler Take
TCU offers a variety of off-campus living arrangements for students. We all know that dorm life is part of the college experience, and all freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. After that, however, if the dorm life is too expensive or not your style, off-campus housing is always a suitable alternative. University apartments are individually leased, so it’s possible that neighboring students could pay different rent and abide by different rules. Living off campus gives students more freedom and responsibility. With that, however, comes rent and other living expenses. Convenience and parking are important issues, especially for students who do not live on campus. Off-campus apartments and houses may be somewhat inconvenient at times, but many TCU students enjoy the independence that off-campus housing brings to the table.

There is a load of housing opportunities, especially if you're in Greek life. They are close to campus and lots of Greeks like to keep houses within the fraternity/sorority.

You have to stay on campus for your first two years. The dorms are pretty nice and the second year housing is apartment style. The off-campus housing is expensive, but this is Fort Worth.

Off-campus housing is very convenient. There are tons of houses available to rent as well as many apartment complexes within a ten-minute drive of campus. After sophomore year, it is definitely worth it to live with people off campus.

There are a lot of houses within walking distance to the campus. Those are usually nice, if you can find a couple of roommates. Otherwise, there are at least a dozen apartment complexes close by. They are relatively reasonable and not too far of a drive. |
