Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Most students at TCU are pleased with their education and the opportunities presented to them. While diversity continues to be an issue on campus, strong academics, good facilities, and countless organizations play a larger role in student life. To most students, TCU offers a strong academic foundation in a lively setting. Fort Worth and Dallas provide endless entertainment, while campus police and Froggie Five-O do their best to protect and serve the students on TCU’s campus. Students have a wide variety of living options, providing them with a great environment while earning their educations.

Don't be fooled by the name: TCU isn’t a stuffy church school. It’s a place where students are encouraged to try new things and branch out. A few numerous organizations—Greek ones in particular—tend to discriminate between social groups, but the overall student body is quite friendly. Academically, students are eager to learn, and a small student-faculty ratio allows students to interact closely with each of their professors. In the long run, many TCU students truly appreciate the campus for what it is and tend to view it as an experience like no other. It sure is good to be a Horned Frog!

The people you meet will be great, the School itself sucks

I've met amazing people here. Good friends and a great job with good people. But TCU will SUCK YOU DRY financially and give you the run around when it comes to why you have certain charges and are always finding ways to get more money out of you. On top of that there aren't locks on tuiton, so it goes up every year meaning more loans. Also, like many schools majors are impacted. So if you're looking to get into business or nursing be sure to above average---average being the typical student in the school LITERALLY has a 3.5 and higher. I work in the academic services office and I see good hard working students with 3.3's and 3.2's get turned down all the time scrambling looking for new majors and a bunch of other crazy things. I personally don't believe TCU is worth it overall, I wouldn't trade the friends I've made but at the end of the day you're there to get a degree and the financial strain that students are placed on and some of the academic crap they have you do...doesn't equal out.

Overall, I love TCU; it's amazing. Even though it wasn't the best school I got into, it was definitely the right choice. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. They do a great job of making every student feel at home.

TCU is a gem of a school; really, you cannot do any better. At TCU you get the best of both worlds: you get all the amenities of a large campus, like class options, big time sports, etc., with all the advantages to a small private school, like the intimate class sizes, personal attention and a close-knit community. We know how to balance working hard and the social scene. Coming to TCU has seriously been the best life choice I have made this far and I will forever be proud of my decision!
