Nursing

Nursing is an awesome major. The teachers there are want to see the students succeed and are willing to help us when we need the help. The program is very competitive as far as getting in, but it is very rewarding once you start the program

Moderately Safe

We, as a student body, are notified of any crime activity that happens on campus or the outskirts of campus. This keeps us informed and helps us to remember to be cautious. Crime is not high. TCU does a great job with safety and security on campus. There are at least three emergency call boxes in view from any point a student stands on campus. Police escorts are always available.

Good Variety and Service

The one dining hall on campus is satisfying to a diverse group of people. The food is good and there are many options. The meal plans are expensive, but you get unlimited meal swipes with most of the meal plan packages. Unfortunately, the weekday hours are from 7am-9pm, not quite as late as many prefer would prefer. Overall, students are happy with the good quality food and friendly service.

Great Campus

TCU has a beautiful campus. The dorms and rec provide several amenities. The food choice are horrible. Only one cafeteria and two other options. The food gets dull fast.

WASP Majority

Most of the students here are white and upper/upper middle class Republicans. Christian is the dominant religion, but is not as much of a driving force as other religiously affiliated colleges. We are required to take three hours of religion, which ranges from the New Testament to Buddhism. Greek life dominates the campus. As a lower class, Hispanic liberal that's not active in a sorority, I often feel like a loner.

TCU Diversity

TCU is pretty accepting of all races, religions, and economic backgrounds. I will say that most of the diversity can be found due to TCU's athletic program although they are trying to adjust that in their admissions process. Most of the student body is white, upper middle class, christian, and moderately conservative. But if you differ in any one of those aspects, you definitely do not have trouble finding friends with the same beliefs.

TCU Safety

I have never felt unsafe at TCU. We have our own Campus Security and although their main concern is passing out parking tickets, it makes the campus feel a little safer. TCU always informs the student body whenever something does happen on campus such as car break ins or assaults. Instead of hiding the information, the campus informs the students of any possible threat. I have always appreciated that. TCU is located in a city, however, and any city is going to have a higher crime rate.

I feel very safe on campus. Coming from Texas A&M, the campus is small and safe. The campus police are very kind and helpful.

Very Generous

I earned an academic scholarship to TCU, without which I'd never be able to attend the University. To succeed in getting merit-based aid, you must demonstrate your academic success in high school. Very easy to apply for scholarships; the application for admission doubles as the scholarship application, so there's only one form to fill out!

Fairly Warm Weather

The weather in Texas is SUPER hot in the first couple months of school. You sweat just going from class to class! But my October it cools off and the temperature is usually in the 60's which is really nice! It hardly ever snows here so classes arn't cancelled very often. In the winter, it's a little chilly but it's not bad!

Same Ol' Same Ol'

There is one main dining hall at TCU: The Bluu. It's okay...for the first three weeks as a freshman. After that you realize there is no variety and it's probably not as healthy as it should be. There are other places on campus such as Frogorrito, 1873 and about three other places to get snacks.

Encompasses the Perfect College Experience

I love TCU and Ft. Worth. The school administration and faculty are inspirational, compassionate and mentors along my path to becoming a high school math teacher, football coach and church teen group leader. The people of Ft. Worth are warm and immediately made me feel as if I have lived here my whole life. TCU has greek life, club sports, a long list of student organizations, easy accessibility to faculty and staff, GREAT NCAA athletic teams including 2011 Rose Bowl Champs and 2010 Regional Baseball champs who went to the College World Series! Ft. Worth has AAA baseball, the Stockyards, rodeo, Cowtown Run, beautiful downtown, train to Dallas to attend Dallas Cowboys games or visit Dallas for the day, the American League Champs Texas Rangers.... There are no words to fully express the impact TCU and Ft. Worth have had on my life.

Fort Worth Loves TCU

I personally love how Fort Worth has the feel of a college town without being just a college town. I'll explain this sentiment in two parts:

First, Fort Worth residents HATE when Fort Worth is called "the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex" because Fort Worth is a city that is completely independent of Dallas. Because of this, Fort Worthians TCU is something that they can take pride in and rally around. When we won the Rose Bowl, the Trinity River was dyed purple and messages of congratulations could be seen all around town.

Secondly, Even though TCU is located in Fort Worth, Fort Worth isn't just a college town. Unlike Lubbock or College Station, there is alot to do off campus. Fort Worth came before TCU so it was given time to develop into a enjoyable place to live/study.

Especially, international admission, such as Mrs. Karen Scott, and her husband, director of financial aid department are really nice. Moreover, International office (Mr. Jame English, academic avidsors (Dr. Neilson)and professors are always willing to help us. Thank you.

Fort Worth Is the BEST

Fort Worth is the best city someone could go to college in. It's not this scary big city like most major universities are in. There are tons of things to do -- Billy Bob's on Thursday, Movie Tavern on 7th Street, Hulen Mall is close by. Fort Worth has everything you could possibly need, but the safe and comfortable environment to go with it

If you're anti-greek life....DON'T COME HERE!

This school, literally is about 80% greek life. Just about every event surround greek life. Rush is a huge event, most people make their friends there and don't typically go looking outside their sorority or fraternity to find new people. Everday you will see them together in the BLUU or just on campus wearing their letters, shirts, posting flyers about events everything. So if that's really not your thing, don't attend. I personally didn't care either way about it.

The people you meet will be great, the School itself sucks

I've met amazing people here. Good friends and a great job with good people. But TCU will SUCK YOU DRY financially and give you the run around when it comes to why you have certain charges and are always finding ways to get more money out of you. On top of that there aren't locks on tuiton, so it goes up every year meaning more loans. Also, like many schools majors are impacted. So if you're looking to get into business or nursing be sure to above average---average being the typical student in the school LITERALLY has a 3.5 and higher. I work in the academic services office and I see good hard working students with 3.3's and 3.2's get turned down all the time scrambling looking for new majors and a bunch of other crazy things. I personally don't believe TCU is worth it overall, I wouldn't trade the friends I've made but at the end of the day you're there to get a degree and the financial strain that students are placed on and some of the academic crap they have you do...doesn't equal out.

Honors Dorm Is Awesome

The Milton Daniel Honors dorm is newly renovated and quite arguably the best lower classmen dorms on campus. Staff is nice and the atmosphere is conducive to both studying and socializing.
