College Prowler Take
With all the parking woes, not having a car at TCU may actually be easier. The local bus system and taxi services provide a fairly dependable means of transportation around the Fort Worth area. Sometimes the buses run late, but it is not difficult for students who don’t have cars to find rides with friends. Public transportation may not provide the most convenient modes of transportation, but the major bus stop on TCU’s campus makes transportation more manageable. Students who don’t want to rely on public transportation, or those who need transportation on a regular basis, should bring their car to school, despite the parking difficulties. For students who don’t have cars, taxi services are recommended, although they can be a little expensive. Public transportation in Fort Worth may not be the best, but it is functional and may help alleviate the daily parking headaches facing so many students.

TCU provides you with a free bus...
TCU provides you with a free bus card, which lets you get around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex easily, and most importantly, for free. It's a great deal.

Public transportation is good...
Public transportation is good around TCU. The Fort Worth bus system runs right through campus and you can usually get anywhere on it. There is also a train that runs back and forth between Dallas and Fort Worth with many stops throughout the metroplex. There is also a bus that drives students from the parking lot to wherever they need to go on campus late at night.

Transportation here is not very convenient at all. There is a bus that stops at campus, but the schedule is unpredictable and very spread out, especially on weekends.

You don’t really need to get...
You don’t really need to get around town that much. Everything from grocery stores to salons are all within walking distance. Most people have cars, so even if you don’t, you can always get a ride if you need to go somewhere far. |

Transportation is not very good...
Transportation is not very good here. I wouldn’t rely on it at all. Many people bring their own cars, so if you don’t bring one, someone you know will have one. |
On-Campus Transportation
Arrives at the Student Center every 15 minutes to take students to the other side of campus and back. Also, bikes and scooters are recommended for getting from class to class.
Public Transportation
There is a bus stop on University Drive, almost at the center of campus.
