Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

With all the parking woes, not having a car at TCU may actually be easier. The local bus system and taxi services provide a fairly dependable means of transportation around the Fort Worth area. Sometimes the buses run late, but it is not difficult for students who don’t have cars to find rides with friends. Public transportation may not provide the most convenient modes of transportation, but the major bus stop on TCU’s campus makes transportation more manageable.

Students who don’t want to rely on public transportation, or those who need transportation on a regular basis, should bring their car to school, despite the parking difficulties. For students who don’t have cars, taxi services are recommended, although they can be a little expensive. Public transportation in Fort Worth may not be the best, but it is functional and may help alleviate the daily parking headaches facing so many students.

Transportation

Free bus passes all over Fort Worth. Free train pass to Dallas. Free parking lot bus routes and also, if you're injured you can get picked up on campus. Also, froggy 5-0 picks up girls late at night throughout campus so they dont have to walk alone in the dark in the middle of the city.

Can't Get Anywhere Without a Car

The only places within walking distance are some college bars, lots of restaurants, and a grocery store. Other than that, you pretty much need to have a car. There is virtually no public transportation. Getting a ride to the airport also can be expensive, as you have to get SuperShuttle or a cab or get a friend to drive you (it's about 30 minutes away).

Around campus, though, there is really good transportation with a shuttle service, golf cart safe rides service, etc.
