Tuition & Financial Aid:
Tuition is reasonable and financial aid is available although the options available after FAFSA and student loans aren't always clear.

I wish the professors would give feedback on assignments more quickly.

My dealings with the school as a whole have been very good. TSTC provides local, cost-effective educational opportunities to west Texas residents. The LVN to ADN program, however, is very disorganized and difficult to follow. The access to courses is easy but it isn't always clear whats expected on assignments and by the time feedback is received on assignments it is usually far after it would have been useful.

I love the fact that everyone fits in and that it's small enough to get help from all the faculty!! The environment is wonderful and I love my classes!!

Only really had contact with nursing students since all the classes are specific to the program. Loved most of them, few drama spurts

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Dont like the late disbursement but good communication

Everything is pretty quick easy and the staff is very helpful. the small student body gives it a B+ because there isnt many extra activities to do with not many students wanting to do them nor having time with most of them having families

The computer and library labs are always available for use at no charge and there are enough machines that you dont have to wait in line to use one and you can print your assignments at no charge in both.

This campus although small is one of the best ive been to. I went to a division one college before coming and didnt like it at all. The staff is very helpful and the student body is also nice and helpful. This is by far the best college there is.
College Senior 2013-02-13T03:09:25Z
the facilities on the campus are nice there is a library, adequate resources such as instructors.

going to an online program was a little different at first, but i came around to the way things worked. one of my classes is a hybrid class that has both online and on campus location so not all my classes are online and it seems to work out well for me.

I am a little frustrated with my math class I am an adult returning to school and is kind of hard to focus at home without the teachers been there to assist you, the material in the web class is very good but i am just not good at math and not used to dealing with this kind of teaching although is very convenient.

Student Aid, the Registrar and virtually any facility I have had any dealings with have been very kind, encouraging and courteous.

All of the students I have had any dealings with online were always wonderful, very helpful and all seemed to be dedicated towards their goal of graduation. In my Algebra class, there were two younger ladies that talked too much but other than that, they were nice, just a little too chatty for my taste.
College Senior 2013-01-17T22:49:34Z
My hardest subject to date was Algebra. It had been many years since I had any exposure to the subject. My Instructor was very understanding of my apprehension, but made learning it as easy to understand as I think any person could.
Whenever I had any problem at all, she was always very kind to help me understand where I was either going wrong or explain the process for the solution again. Since her classes were in person, sometimes I'd call her and leave a message, since she was in another class, but as soon as that class was over, she was very nice about getting in touch with me, soon after that.
I made an A in that course, and it was directly due to her ability to teach and my desire to do well in it.

The classes I've had so far, were mostly online and the participation from our teachers and fellow students is wonderful, very encouraging and easy to understand what their expectations are.
The opportunities in this field I am in, are vast. The instructors are always very encouraging and go above and beyond to discuss any questions or concerns.
The curriculum is something I had to get used to, the college I'd been in before was in the actual classroom, but once I was used to it, I found it much easier for me, since there was little distraction like there might be in a classroom setting.
The facility itself I did take my Algebra classes in, and it's a very nice facility. Set up for handicapped people and very accommodating towards them, as well as wide open space for students to walk in ease.

TSTC Sweetwater is one you should SERIOUSLY research and review before you decide to go here. Almost all faculty and staff is rude, except for a chosen few. The cafeteria staff are the only ones who can get it right here. I have attended previous colleges and this one is at the bottom of the list. I would not come here if I had a chance to start over. My teacher does not have a game plan for the semester, or even for the day. He plans the day when he walks in, which is usually an hour late and tries to "go with the flow." If you do not understand the material, he will repeat the same thing the exact same way he said it in the first place, as if you will get it better that way. He then talks down to you as if you are stupid. When he assigns projects he gets angry or irritated and starts "threatening" to get pissed off if we don't do this, or if we accidentally do that. I really do not like the teachers here, and I did try to talk to a counselor about it. He asked me the next day how things were and I said, "Well today actually went well." Then I never heard another word, and the subject was dropped. They dont care about you here, and tutoring is not even an option because there is not enough staff and they all leave as soon as the clock hits 4:59pm.

Students are mostly white and hispanic. The majority of students are here for the Wind Energy program or Diesel Tech programs, so they all flock together with the rest of us on the side. Nothing really specific about the student body here.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
