Texas State does a good job making students feel at home and welcome. They go to great lengths to accept each student with open arms.

The Varsity teams at Texas State could be supported more by the student body. The school spirit is present but not at the level that other university have. The teams do their job as the recruitment gathers the best player the school budget ca aquire.

San Marcos is a small town with the huge city of the university in the middle of it. Plenty of stuff to do just like any other place. Has Music and Movies in the park during the summer. There is always events happening on campus if you just look for them. The river runs right through the middle of campus with plenty of areas to find your own spot you like. It has the outlet malls on the south side of town so there is plenty of shopping. The square downtown provides for good food during the day and a nightlife in the evenings. The outdoor center at the university provides ample opportunity to go on trips if you love the outdoors. Rent a paddle board!

I am in the Nursing program. It is located in Round Rock and not in San Marcos so it is very small school. I love the tight-knit network. The teachers are AMAZING, tough, and do anything to help you succeed. The pass rate of the NCLEX is decent...somewhere around 95%. Way different environment than Texas State University in San Marcos and workload is doubled.

San Marcos has a good mix of chain restaurants and local ones. Some good local ones to check out are Gils Broiler - it has excellent burgers and is famous for their manske rolls. Another one is Alvin Ords - known for their excellent sandwiches. There are also local food carts and new places popping up all the time.

Well they just changed the bus routes. Now it's longer and inconvenient. Some apartments are the last stop, and by that time the buses are full. I feel like they need to have more buses, especially for those times where many students have classes. The last bus leaves at 11 pm and is only outbound only.

well it's tobacco free campus, but some people don't follow that rule. There needs to be more parking spaces, and the parking permits are ridiculously too high! They give parking tickets to people who do not have permits, but what is that person supposed to do when there are not enough available parking spaces?

I'm in the McCoy College of Business and I'm extremely satisfied with everything about this program. I'm a Management major, so it's really nice to have professors that held high positions in the corporate world (CFO's, attorneys for corporations, etc.). It's a relatively high work load, but you learn a lot. The curriculum is very engaging and pushes you to learn. Job opportunities from McCoy are really good as well. Most graduates get a job.

The process of getting into my Business Management major was pretty easy. I just had to select my interest in the major on my application. However, the school is insanely selective (which is a good thing). The most important criteria is having a higher GPA and enough credit hours (30+) upon application. I'd recommend having a GPA of 3.75 or higher and making sure you have plenty of math background.

As a business management major, I was very scared that it would be boring, repetitive classes that didn't keep my interest. With 20/20 hindsight, though, I'd pick this program again in a heartbeat. The professors are extremely energetic and truly have interest in what they're talking about. My goal, ultimately, is to get my law degree and MBA and become an oil and gas attorney. The one concern I have with that, however, is the fact that there isn't much demand for attorneys in the current economic climate.

As a business management major here, I'm part of one of the top 10% of business schools in the nation. The department heads maintain great communication with people in the Business School. The professors are very diverse and are very attentive to student needs. I have not yet had the opportunity to have an internship, but many businesses in the area offer them to students.

It's very warm and humid, but not uncomfortable. It rains sporadically at times, but usually the weather is somewhat pleasant. It always feels nice outside.

I received one scholarship, they are very hard to get.

the campus parties are fun, I don't go to off campus parties or bars

Guys & Girls:
Most of the students are attractive and hot. We can see many Mexicans studying here. For boys, T-shirt and a jean or shorts is common and the same for girls too.

This Univ is very diverse and I really love it. sexual orientation is perfect to 1:1 ratio and people are awesome. Infrastructure is the best among all other univs in Texas. Over all I recommend this university for everyone.

There are many options for off campus housing, but you've got to be careful which one you choose. ALL are student oriented and most of the time built very fast, so be very careful as you choose the one that suits you the most.

I had to do nothing special, the only thing that was hard, was transferring the credits and have the information

I love this college, it feels so friendly and it feels like family. So far I've enjoyed the classes thoroughly, the professors are GREATLY qualified and prepared.

I transferred from a Mexican school and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the classes. The only thing I would change would be the process, I'd like it to be a bit more helpful and detailed.

There is not much strictness with the school overall. I mean there is always constant partying and drinking for underage students. I mean its college I guess. There are police services but they don't take underage drinking very seriously until someone gets hurt.

The parking on campus is average. Students will find a parking spot no matter what and it is reasonably priced for visitors on campus when they need to park somewhere.

I have never witnessed someone doing drugs on campus, but I have heard there are students who find a secluded place, or sometimes even sneak some in their room and smoke it. I have heard students talk about places off campus to do drugs as well.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
