There is a lot of construction going on around the school so traffic and be a snorer as well as being a little late to class if the bus isn't at your stop on time if you are a commuter.

when it rains, it quickly gets flooded and classes are pretty far to walk in the rain. they never cancel classes. when the weather is nice everyone is outside and hang outs at the river.

Parking on campus is sucky. it's always full and expensive. they just made a new garage but can't park. it is only for the new theater they built.

I have had trouble with the financial aid office every year. I will "complete" (so they say) my application, and then a month or two later they will tell me that I am missing a form. It ends up being a lengthy back-and-forth process that has actually lost scholarship money for me before because apparently completing my applications is a rolling process.

I think that if you live in San Marcos the transportation is probably great, but many students, such as myself, live thirty minutes away in Austin. To my knowledge the school has decided to discontinue their transit services that once included the Austin-Metro area, for this reason I give it a C+.

Like most universities I'd say that Texas State has a a fine athletics program, however I a not involved in any type of athletic team, so perspective is merely an outsider's.

The Communication Design program is still changing. I think I'm lucky that I'm in it now from what it used to be but they are trying out a lot of things and different teachers and I feel like I'm not getting the best education as possible in some classes just because they want to experiment. Most of the teachers are good. Some are great professionally but have no idea how to teach.

It really just depends on the people you hang out with.

Like any college the classes and professors are average. Some times you can land yourself in an awful class with an awful teacher but there are amazing classes with great teachers out there. I recommend using RateMyProfessor.com and word of mouth to choose your classes and teachers.

There are more parking permits sold than there are parking spaces. Depending on the time of your classes and where they are on campus dictates where you will park. Arrive an hour early to grab a spot or cruise around for one. It's weird following people as they walk back to their car but it is survival of the quickest. Otherwise parking is pretty terrible.

If I need one I have no problem getting one but they could update them a little more. It is convenient to be able to check one out on campus.

Double Majoring – I'm not particulary talented but I love music. I've been trying to get into the music school so that I can get into my second degree Sound Recording along with my International Relations degree. I enjoy my international Relations degree very much and so far I love my Japanese proffessor even though I'm having difficulty balancing paying for school, working, medical bills, and studying. The workload for this is most of the time unbearable. It would be nice if I could afford not to work so much. One of the hardest things about this degree is finding someone who will take an intern with no experience so that I can get a start on building my resume.

They're Ok – Well they are very affective. I can got from the mall to the store, home and campus, plus it's all free because it was deducted from my tuition. My only complain is that there is no affordable service provided by the school for when to bus is not in service. Taxi's here are really expensive and there is no regular bus system avaiable here.

Not Bad – Of course there are drugs being done but you don't see people doing it in public. But if you see a dude that's got a glazed look in his eyes you know what's going on.

Strict Lol – you have got to be kidding me. I have yet to see an officer on campus

What a Place – It's busy and full of things to do. We are the in between spot of Austin and San Antonio. Life is never dull. Great shopping center and plenty of places to eat. If you have the money joining an organization of club is very easily accessable.

The town has a great bar scene for students who are 21 or older. Lots of house parties.

Sports at Texas State are fun, but not a huge part of daily campus life.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
