Greek life is always in the Quad raising awareness for a cause, fundraising for their chapter, or volunteering around the city.

The weather in San Marcos is always beautiful. It can get really hot in the summer but there is a river to help you cool down.

There are people of many different races and religions at Texas State.

At Texas State, there are tons of computer labs in every building. They provide the students with some of the nicest computers that work at a fast speed. The internet and Wifi can get a little slow sometimes when there are a lot of people using it at once.

San Marcos is a small town but has a beautiful river that runs through the campus at Texas State University. Everyone is friendly and love being in San Marcos. There is a huge outlet mall located in the town where many people come to shop.

Every place is nice. But they fill up fast. It's hard to get a place.

its good but it gets old

The weather is usually amazing. There are only a couple days out of the year that it is raining or terribly cold.

Dining halls always gets old, even though they offer a wide variety or food from italian to sushi. Other than dining halls we have places on campus like Chick-Fil-A, Blimpee's (like Subway), Starbucks, etc. With dining halls, you have everything from buffet to the actual food stand.

Transportation is pretty easy around campus. We have multiple buses that pick you up from basically everywhere! You can also download the Texas State app and it will tell you when the buses come and how much longer until they pick up at your desired location.

When choosing housing at Texas State, it is best to first think of location. I live in Tower Hall and it is great because it is in the middle of campus and right by the food court and student center.

Health & Safety:
The health and safety is of normal average rate, though if you need assistance for a common cold or any medical reason, I would suggest finding a cost first because the cost could go ridiculous for a common examination or so.

The dining halls and stops for food around campus are of good quality and present a way to eat. The only problem is boredom and distaste for having the food all the time rather than a home cook meal.
College Sophomore 2013-02-02T22:59:51Z
Everything is of high quality for some and bad for others who are per say more meticulous about academics when I find the education here to also be the best in the state and country

The rec center is great. They pretty much have everything for any kind of workout you'd want to do. The library is a quiet place to study, but sometimes it can be difficult to find private study rooms if you're studying in a group. There's always lots of campus activities and clubs you can join. There's lots of grassy, shaded areas for just relaxing. There's several food halls with options ranging from fast food to healthy salads.

Health & Safety:
The Health Center is really quick to get you in when your sick, but I didn't think they were as skilled as doctor's in a clinic considering they didn't diagnose me accurately as having the flu. However, it is really cheap. I feel relatively safe walking around on campus. There have been one or two scares though that make me a little nervous. When your feeling nervous, the campus offers a service where someone will come and pick you up to take you back to your dorm so that you don't have to walk alone at night.

There's a decent bus system that takes you around school and around the area. It's a lower grade because the buses can get crowded and they are getting rid of the buses that travel from Austin and San Antonio. On the bright side, those buses will get reassigned to new routes.
College Sophomore 2013-01-31T03:58:56Z
I have not heard any complaints or problems regarding the abuse of any illicit drugs on campus. The campus police is great and handy!
College Sophomore 2013-01-31T03:52:25Z
Eating on campus is great and easy. You only pay once at the beginning of the year and then you are set depending on what kind of plan you get.
College Junior 2013-01-30T02:13:55Z
I feel like it is almost impossible to get a scholarship at my school. You can apply over and over again for the same scholarship and still not have any success. That is why I turned to outside scholarships.
College Junior 2013-01-30T02:06:51Z
There are only 3 super nice dorm choices in my opinion. But they are all pretty decent once you get used to them. The best part about living on campus is the fact that you have access to EVERYTHING. And plus by living on campus you meet more people that way.

During my senior year as an undergrad I participated in 2 internships. One was for Hays County Victim Services and the other was for Hays County Juvenile Probation. Both internships did not pay. The time committment to internships depends on whether you intern during the summer or during a regular semester. If you intern during the summer, you are pressed for time and have to spend alot of hours during the week to finish it within the time frame you are given. If you intern during the semester you are allowed a longer period of time to get your internship hours in, at least this was the case in the Criminal Justice department.

It is amazing to be apart of the Criminal Justice Master's Program and the Forensic Psychology program. We have the most amazing and supportive professor's that are truly passionate about what they teach and their students. I can always count on learning such important valuable information with every class that I attend. The Criminal Justice Department is a very close knit community, one in which all the students are famliar with eachother and the professor's know most of their students by name.

Due to the extreme weather conditions of Texas itself, on months of January and those related to the Spring or Winter Seasons, it is relatively hot. However, a majority of the days are sunny and very breezy.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
