Not strict unless any scholarships you personally have acquired that have their own gap/grade requirements.

usually the whether is very nice, pretty warm, but it sucks when its rainy and you have to walk to class.

My instructors in my chosen major which is Studio Arts have all been good. But not so much in my freashman core classes. Huge student to teacher ratio on many.

Very diverse in many ways. People come from all over and different backgrounds to TSU. Diversity is really pushed by the school. I think more than is necessary because there is already so much here.

There are strict policies against drup and drinking in my dorm. It happens off campus though.

Average dorms, but some of them are very old and far away from the main class buildings.

Many different options to chose from, and the locations are all very convenient. Some of my favorites include Saltgrass Steakhouse, Grinns, and Lolita's tacos.

For the most part they have a pretty good variety, but they could add a few more healthy food places.

Since it is Texas, the weather changes a lot! Majority of the weather is sunny and beautiful, but during winter it has been known to snow.

Many apartment options at a decent price, but the the trains all around San Marcos make it difficult.

People are generally friendly and the bars are laid back and fun. There can be a slight country and frat vibe overall and if you're not into that you'll probably like partying in Austin on the weekends. There's always lots of house parties and people ready to mingle.

I think they are ok. I never paid much attention to athletics. However, the football team has been moving up in division.

San Marcos is a nice town with adequate amenities because of its close proximity to Austin and San Antonio. It is friendly and warm and the river and hills makes this a nice place for those who love the outdoors.

The food is filling and satisfying, but as a person who was raised on home-cooked meals, sometimes the Campus Dining leaves me feeling empty. Sometimes I'll even start feeling ill from all the preservatives and fat in the Campus Dining food. My favorite places to eat is Blimpies, Harris Dining Hall and Mr. B's Grinders. I wish the Dining Halls offered more fresh food.

The classes at Texas State are either very easy or very hard and it really depends on the subject matter. Some classes were merely lectures with three exams, of which minor studying is required for an A. Other classes, however, require much more engagement and studying. I preferred to take notes for all of my classes along with perfect attendance, and I have scored all A's except for 2 classes from my last 3 semesters here. My favorite study area was the 4th floor of the LBJ student center where the rocking chairs are; it's always quiet and calm. My tips: study and don't skip class.

I'm in the department of Communication Disorders, and I only recently joined. I was previously a Psychology major, but the Psychology Department felt too boring for me and I felt like I did not fit in with the other Liberal Arts students. I wanted more science in my life. Thus I am completing the last of my core classes. Despite the change, I found the professors interesting, unique and even funny. The classes kept students involved and engaged. I was given help when I needed it and I even made some friends in my classes.

I work at the recreation center and it is awesome. It's huge, provides tons of classe and options to work out. The library is alright, I don't like that layout and there's no parking lot close to it. The student center provides restaraunts and Texas State store. I haven't seen tons of "green spaces" There are events, but I dont seem to hear about alot of them, you really have to lookout for when they are. I wouldn't say there are tons of "hangouts" on campus, but the recreation center is always busy and full of students.

The nutrition programs workload is alot of classes. The facilities are very nice and well kept and provide there own computer lab for students. The teachers help you get ready to apply for internships during your senior year, but a more extensive program would be nice. The classes seem to repeative with what the teach and are not very broad in my opinion. The workload can sometimes be alot in some classes, but they do prepare you for the nutrition exam you must take at the end of the program and your internship.

I do like the salad bar at Harris, because i am a vegetarian. There are several restaraunts in the student center along with a small convenience food store. The prices are what would be expected of a school. I do wish they had more healthful options in the vending machines and in the convience store. The menus do provide variety.

The professors in my department, nutrition, are mostly very nice and very good teachers, although there are a few that are terrible at keeping us interested and also horrible at giving decent tests that really measure what we learn. Teachers do provide a medium size workload, not too much, not too little. The registration process is a bit frustrating if you're a transfer student, but probably not too bad to others. You have to contact the departments every semester for permission into classes that require your prerequisite scores from previous classes at another university.

There is great acceptance and diversity on the Texas State campus. One reason I love this school so much is the amount of different people from all types of places. There are all type of backgrounds and political beliefs, which I learned a great deal about in my Family Policy class there. Religion is not on the forefront as I have seen, but I know there are many different religious clubs on campus.

I am a Communication disorders major and I love it. I just finished my first semester in the program and the teachers were very helpful and you can really tell they love what they're doing.

The university does not allow smoking on campus. In some areas such as near the Health Professions building, you must be so many feet away from the building if you are to smoke.

During the spring, it's beautiful at Texas State. The university sits on a hill and overlooks the city of san marcos. During the fall, the weather is still warm but also windy.

There are several computers to use at the library. Printing is also FREE. The library will also rent out laptops for individual use in the library.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
