Overall, Texas State is a great school. The professors do care about you and how you do in their class (that is, IF you attend class) and the people are super nice. Career services is super helpful even after you graduate and the organizations on campus provide a place of comfort for all types of people with all sorts of interests. The only crappy part was the parking...but I think that's an issue with a lot of schools.

Being a marketing major at Texas State it great. The business school is in the top 5 percentile in the nation and will definitely make you work hard for your degree but it is totally worth it. The professors are really cool, always available and willing to help you out if you need it.

Fill out all paperwork completely and as soon as it can be completed. Take note of any special circumstances that may change your need after paperwork is completed - you may be eligible for funds not awarded.

The drug scene at Texas State University is not really big.

The buses run good, but many times the busses are completely pack and you can't get on. But other than that they are great. Run often and hold many people.

I love the bus shuttles at my school. However, the only bad thing I can think of is there isn't one located at the apartments I'm living in. Sometimes during certain times of the day, there should be more buses running because they tend to be filled up really quickly. One good thing about the buses is that they're always running and makes it easier to get to campus.

Health & Safety:
I've never really felt unsafe on campus, even late at night. I usually notice school campus police patrolling certain areas of the campus and that makes me feel safe. I also like how there are escort services so you don't have to walk back to your car or dorm alone.

The weather isn't so bad. The only thing I don't like about going to class or getting around campus is when it's raining.

Parking is crazy. Students use it more like a last resort kind of deal. There is parking available at certain big locations, but most of the time its kind of far from where you want to be. The good side of this is that you can park wherever you want after 5 p.m.

Campus housing is not too bad. I did so in Blanco Hall for my first year and everything was good. I met a lot of people and the commodities were great. You even get your bathroom cleaned once a week or something like that. There is also a big variety for what you want and what you want to pay for and all of the halls are right next to campus.

Parking isn't all that great at Texas State, especially if you have a commuter parking sticker. It's a lot easier to find parking if you have a resident parking sticker, but even then, it's fairly difficult to find a parking spot. Sometimes it's so difficult to find a spot that it almost feels as if the school just sells parking stickers to get money, regardless of the amount of parking spots available on the campus.

There are definitely a various amount of races at Texas State University, and this statement also applies to the economic background, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Anyone who attends Texas State will find themselves making friends with people of all sorts of backgrounds.

The transportation at Texas State is exceptional. They run frequently, and have drop offs at all the apartments surrounding the school campus, as well as at various places. Plus, they're free!
College Junior 2012-12-20T19:13:04Z
There is a wide selection of apartments in San Marcos. To help you find one you can look online, ask for help at the University, or go to the local apartment finders that offer their services for free. For students, the prices are quite good and the locations are great too. Another good thing about all of the apartments is that the bobcat tram, the bus that takes you to and from school, is available despite your location. Good location, good selection, great price.

I use the computer labs every day at my school and they are great. The service is almost never down and the printers are very reliable and you just pay a fee in your tuition so you don't have to worry about it on a day to day basis.
College Senior 2012-12-20T05:27:51Z
Usually the weather is awesome with the river on campus!!
College Senior 2012-12-20T05:27:03Z
I don't consider this campus a school with drugs everywhere.
College Senior 2012-12-20T05:26:20Z
We have everything from apartments to cottages to houses. The build additions to apartment complexes every year because the school population is so big. They are building at least five new complexes for next year.

Parking on campus is crazy. The only reason you'd need a car is to go home or work. The parking permit prices are pretty expensive as well, like around 200-300 dollars. Depending on the situation, a parking ticket could be from 20-200 bucks, so be careful about that. But you can also get one ticket waived, but only one. Theres never alot of availability of spaces, unless you're a commuter. Or get there super early.
College Sophomore 2012-12-19T08:29:21Z
I haven't seen any drug use or heard of any peer pressure. Alot of poeple drink underage and get in trouble for it if they are caught but it tends to be handled well.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
