The process of getting into the program was simple I didn't encounter any problems.

Here in Texas the heat is extremly hot. Walking a short distance can get you dripping in sweat. There are also many large hills and stairs you have to walk on which only makes the heat feel unbarable. When the fall and winter season comes around many people enjoy wearing their hoodies and warm clothes with style. It is much cooler but it does tend to rain more during the winter season. Cold and rainy weather do not mix.

I love my program just because its not a big department like communications. The advisors know you and they help you with choosing classes. They don't come and serve you with a silver platter but they have tons of information regarding anything in the field and are more than willing to answer any questions you might have.

I am happy with my program because it is interdisciplinary and I am able to get a very well rounded education. However, I have noticed that with my major competition is tough and you have to submerse yourself into world news nevertheless, I would do it all over again if I had to only maybe with a little more preparation.

I haven't really looked into internships yet however, if there was an internship offered it would more than likely be in San Antonio or Austin which could pose a problem transportation, time management etc.. I would like to do an internship if possible and hopefully one that allows me to gain great experience.

San Marcos is a small town but has so much to offer. It has everything you need, awesome people, great night life and of course tubing. The campus is beautiful and so are the people.

Excellent local and area (Austin to San Antonio) bus service. And if that doesn't get you where you want to go, Amtrak is in town and can take you all over the country! Town is small and is easy to navigate by car, bicycle or foot. Everyone does what works best for them!

There are MANY MANY places to live off campus, sometimes just a short walk away. Otherwise, bus services are great. You can find anything to fit your budget and lifestyle in San Marcos.

Throughout the business school, I have seen a lot of different internship opprotunities advertised so I know that when the time comes for me to start applying for internships, I can count on the advisors at the business school to help me out.

I don't live on campus so I don't really know how security is.
College Senior 2012-09-17T21:04:37Z
Parking on campus is so difficult. The commuter lots are so far away from the buildings I have to go to for my classes and if I wanted to park close, I would have to pay $3 per hour. Riding the bus from my neighborhood is so much easier than trying to park on campus.

Texas State's student life on campus is great. There are tons of diffenrent dining halls, depending what you feel like eating and your meal plan. The library is 7 stories so you will always find a quiet place to study. The student recreation center is also huge, and always filled with people doing different activities. There are over 400 organisations at the school, so you are bound to find that you feel is more like you.

There are really nice apartments here in San marcos. You just have to go on the hunt for one early so you will get the reasonable prices and deals. Because if you wait to long the prices will go up because there are no other choices. There is transportation from the apartments to the school by the tram bus. There is always security guards patroling the apartments incase of any suspicious action and for the students safety.

San marcos is a small town where we have the river surrounding us. Everything is so close and we are perfect distance from Austin and San Antonio for random weekend visits. We have the San marcos outlets as our mall, which is huge and amazing. There are always good prices at the stores. The locals attitude towards allt he students is always so nice. They dont mind sharing it with us, giving us a very "home" and welcoming feeling to their town.

The Athletics at Texas State isn't famous, but they are moving up quickly! It's a good time to be at Tx State! It's not as difficult to get into as a bigger university but you are still going to get an awesome experience and be competitive.

Texas State is a party school! It's not hard to find a party at any of the big apartment complexes and get free drinks. If your over 21 the square seams to be the go to place for casual partying. People who are a little more intense go to 6th street. A lot of times they will have party buses that charter there and back.

Professors are open to questions and class discussion. They provide opportunities for learning and have been very helpful! The Business school is beautiful, high tech, and comfortable!

I have fantastic professors. I love the campus and despite the party reputation, it's really coming around and becoming a seriously competitive school. Our graduates are stealing jobs from UT grads as well as graduates from Ivy League schools. The workload is what you decide it should be, and your grades will show. Although I study a lot, I still have time to socialize. the facilities are brand new and state of the art! McCoy College of Business has wonderful assets. I'm apart of a student organization where I will have many internship and job opportunities, as well as through the Business Finance Department.

The parking here sucks, if you live in a dorm after 9PM good luck finding a parking spot, but on a positive note they are buliding a new parking garage.

I live in TEXAS its hot....During the Fall the weather is great. We have a river that cuts through our campus so we can jump in to cool off by the way the river stays at a constant tempature year around. Overall the weather is great.

Health & Safety:
Very Safe – I have never heard of any serious violence incendents since I've been here (2010), we have a full police department on campus and i feel extremely safe.
College Junior 2012-09-11T19:34:53Z
Buses Are Realible – The Public transportation at Texas State University is very realiable and run on time, we even have a Texas State app for Andriod & Apple that let you check the bus schedule for the next available bus. Also, they run every 15 minutes before 5PM and every 30 munites after 5PM, the latest bus run until 11PM at night.
College Sophomore 2012-09-08T23:01:44Z
HOT HOT HOT – Make sure you get a water bottle and fill up constantly. The campus is very hilly and the weather is hot. if you don't have a bottle of water you might be a victim of heat exhaustion! though on the plus side, walking up and down the hills carrying a 15 lb backpack is a great way to stay active and loose weight.
College Sophomore 2012-09-08T22:58:07Z
Most Apartments Are Expensive – there are a lot of campus apartments, though if you are an older student it may be hard to find an inexpensive place.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
