there are plenty of spaces to park if youre a commuter, and if no then there is a coumpus bus that is preaty good with timing the stops so you will usually find a ride. but they do thend to get full so make sure to pay attention at the time you are about to get on it.

Social Atmosphere – the social atmosphere is very layback, in orientation they say people are friendly well thats not the case. usually people are in their own world and they tend no to be friendly with the avrage student..

Being to Strict? I wouldn't know how strict campus police are because I've never had to deal with them. I do hear though that parking services go above and beyond with there citations and will try to give you a ticket for almost anything.

Let's Go Clubbing – I wouldn't know a lot about the club scene or nightlife here because I have only gone clubbing once. I've heard that in can get crazy at times. I personally believe that a club is much safer than a house party because there are guards and plenty of exits. You pretty much get your money's worth at a club. There is more danger and more risk at house parties because no one really cares what you're doing

Guys & Girls:
Guys and Girls – Guys at this school are mature and begin to dress a bit more proper. This is usually because they begin to join fraternities and or clubs of interest. On the other hand, some girls still seem to forget that, the season is changing and that it's time to bundle up. We are in college now and from what I've seen, some girls still haven't grown up.

I Love College – Texas State feels both familiar and new. Class sizes are small enough to be noticed by your teacher and classmates. Teachers are lenient, but if you lose track of homework, you can fail. It's different than high school, but it's just as manageable. I feel the experiences I'm having are ones I'll always remember, and I treat everything I do as such.

Creative Writing – There's an entire building dedicated to English where students can study, conference with teachers, and attend class. As a freshman, there are many opportunities I'm still not aware of, but there are many informative posters around the classrooms and halls that create awareness to study abroad/workshop programs. I'm receiving writing tips that I never got in high school, and that make all the difference. I enjoy writing the essays and never feel too stressed. The teachers are extremely helpful, friendly, and lenient.

Housing options off campus are readily available and there are many to choose from and relatively cheap.

Financial aid was a pain. I had to return to the financial aid office numerous times to fill out tons of forms before I finally received my aid. Even then, my payment for the semester was late.

No Space! The parking at Texas State is very limited at the moment. The amount of students has become so great that the university couldn't keep up with parking spaces, but they are building a new parking garage which should fix some problems.

Yummy...If You Look! Off campus food can be limited...if you don't look hard enough. There's the typical fast food joints like Taco Bell and MCDonalds, but there is also some great smaller restaurants that are still affordable such as Grins and Gordo's. Food trailers have recently become popular in San Marcos and are AMAZING. Cheap food with variety!

If you go to Texas State, don't move your car during the week unless you want to search and search for a spot when you get back. You pay 210 for a residental spot and aren't allowed to park in half of the parking lots. Even if you need to run into your room really quickly don't park in a red spot as soon as you come out you will have a nice 50$ ticket on your window. Parking is horrible to say the least.

At the football games although Texas State isn't considered to have a great football team the school as a whole goes out and supports our team. The school spirit is amazing and everyone joins in. We are currently building a new staduim so next years games as well as us being in the WAC will be even greater.

There are multiple computer labs availiabl on campus. Even during busy times such as mid terms and finals you can most likely find a computer to use. Also, the software of the computers is very helpful.

San Marcos – There are a lot of activities in San Marcos for everyone. Whether it is floating the river or walking around downtown. Major cities such as Austin are in close proximity and local towns such as New Braunsfels and Gruene. There is never a dull moment in San Marcos

I Wish I Was Rich! Texas State has a pretty affordable tuition compared to other neighboring universitys. The university was supposed to give me a certain amount of money for coming from a low gross income family, but because of lack of fundson their end I did not receive the amount the "promised". yet in the end they gave me money, not the amount they promised but enough to pay for the rest of my tuition.

Smokers Beware! Recently our campus has become a Tobacco Free campus! No more inhaling that disgusting smoke and getting lung cancer. If you get caught . . . . good luck.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
