I can't really control the weather. It has been really rainy and cold the past few days.

Guys & Girls:
There are many different kinds of guys here at Texas State. The diversity makes it easy to meet many different kinds of people.

Overall, campus strictness hasn't been too hard follow.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:23:08Z
I didn't bring a car this year, so I don't really know much about campus parking.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:22:32Z
I love it here at Texas State! I did not expect my freshman year to go as well as it is right now! I would never regret my decision to come here!
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:21:51Z
There are many restaurants close to campus, and in walking distance from my dorm. It is great to get off campus sometimes and get food, and it's easy to do.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:20:41Z
I currently live on campus, so I don't really know much about living off campus.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:19:24Z
The rec. center is absolutely wonderful! Overall school sprit for the sports is great too! I have had some of the best nights here attending games.

Health & Safety:
I did worry about walking around campus late at night, but I haven't felt the least bit safe since being here. The police do try to go out of their way to help you, and there are services to call if you do feel uncomfortable. They keep the student body informed to, as I get regular emails of local crimes and general safety.

I feel like everyone here is very accepting of all different statuses and backgrounds. All of the people I have met are all every different from one another, myself included, but we all work together!
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:14:51Z
I don't use a lot of the transportation, as I am so close to the center of campus and most of my classes.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:11:11Z
The professors here seem so interested and invested in helping you learn and excel as a student. There is also a wide variety of classes to choose from if you decide to further your studies in English too. I am very impressed!
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:11:10Z
I love the English program here so far. The workload is enough to keep me busy but, because I love it, it hasn't been too bad so far. The English department is wonderful too; they are so helpful and make learning and studying unique!
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:06:22Z
The area right around campus is wonderful! There are many places to go and a lot of things to do. A few miles off of campus, though, it's harder to find things until you either go to Austin or San Antonio. There is a wonderful outlet mall though!
College Freshman 2013-11-11T00:01:01Z
The performing arts here have been amazing! I absolutely love the program and, on another note, the student center has been extremely helpful. The campus overall is so beautiful. I absolutely love it here!
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:58:27Z
My university has a great English program, one that does offer many internships. I do have a concern about finding a internship that will also allow me to continue to be able to afford college, since interns do get paid less, if at all.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:58:27Z
I am very happy with the program at my school. The professors are wonderful, and they are just as excited as I am to be teaching this field as much as I am about choosing it as my major. I do hope to continue learning, though I do have concerns about finding a job once I graduate. I do know that earning a living as a writer is hard, especially as a professional writer/author, which is what I hopefully want to become.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:54:36Z
I have hardly had many problems with computers or printing on campus. The library is close and easy to get to, and with labs on more than one floor, finding an open computer isn't a problem. Maybe only right before and after classes!
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:52:06Z
Most of the dining halls are centrally located and very close to my dorm, which is nice. Though, most are not open on the weekends, making choices very limited.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:48:46Z
I personally am not in a sorority, but my friend is, and she seems to enjoy it a lot! It seems like a really nice, tight community.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:47:27Z
Turning in my one scholarship was easy, but I don't apply for many of the scholarships that my school offers and would help my financial situation.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:45:37Z
I love being so close to the center of campus, and sharing a bathroom with at least 30 other girls isn't as bad as I thought it would be,

I really do enjoy living in San Marcos. Though I don't know how long I could handle living here after graduation. This town is packed full with selfish people, whether it's students or permanent residents. On the weekend, there's a variety of options, but some weekends come around and I find myself with nothing to do. I'm sure this is also influenced by the variety of people you know and how many you know.

I feel the student population is very diverse and very accepting of this. The only thing I know off the top of my head, which would not fall into this category, is the evangelists which come once or twice a semester and attempt to preach to the students. They always draw a huge crowd and the students always argue with them or make a joke of what they are doing every time they come. It's entertaining the first time you see this, but you're just giving them what you want when you crowd around them and argue with them.

Guys & Girls:
I would say there's a pretty diverse student population, with lots of students clubs and organizations. And depending on a club or organization, or your major, you will come in contact with a larger number of people with the same interests.
