Most Popular Sports
Three of the most popular sports on campus are baseball, football, and rugby.
Most Overlooked Teams
Some of the more overlooked sports at Texas State are: archery, softball, and water polo.
School Spirit
School spirit is somewhat lacking at Texas State, as far as sports are concerned. While school spirit isn't always apparent, during home games, lots of students, faculty, and fans come to support the various Bobcat sports teams. Tailgating is the ultimate school spirit event; you will definitely want to check that out.
Getting Tickets
Getting tickets for sporting events is fairly easy. You can do it at the ticket kiosks or online in advance. Plus, students get in to all sporting events going on during the season for free. On average, ticket gates open one to 1.5 hours in advance of the game, depending on the sport. Check out the premium tickets, as well-where you get to hang out in a newly-built VIP lounge that overlooks the football field.
Best Place to Take a Walk
There are about five parks in San Marcos where anyone can walk around beautiful, scenic trails-some along the San Marcos River. And if it's raining, lots of students like to take advantage of the Rec Center's spacious indoor tracks.
