Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.

I have loved all my teachers. they are all very smart, caring people who don't just care about a letter grade, but how you are learning and who you are as a person.

I rather walk to school, because the buses do the best job they can, but that doesn't mean its a good job. the parking lots are never empty. hardly anywhere to park and even if you buy a pass they are way over priced and the price increases every year and don't even guaranty you a spot.

There is great nightlife but it is mostly accessible to those 21 and up. The square in downtown san marcos is a great place to party and meet up new people. There are lots of bars and hangout spots.

Commuter student parking at this campus is truly a nightmare. It takes you about 30 minutes waiting time in order to get a good spot close to the side of campus that your class is located at. It is a miracle if you can get a spot and make it to class on time.

Texas State University Weather was reviewed by em1397
C+

It is extremely hot around campus during the summer and fall semesters. Temperatures typically reach the 100 mark. Tx state is a huge campus so it typically takes around 15-20 minutes walking time from class to class. There is also not a lot of campus transportation to get you by.
