Club ListingsWhat's This?

Crystal's Night Club

This is a super ghetto bar/club with velvet walls and mirrors surrounding the huge dance floor. Most students steer clear of this bar unless they are attending an organized party.

322 N. University Ave.

(806) 762-6238

Wild West

This is a club where you can go on random nights to boot, scoot, and boogie. It's known for hosting mostly country concerts, but other genres sneak in on occasion.

2216 I-27 North

(806) 741-3031

Bar ListingsWhat's This?

Bar PM

This bar is one of Lubbock's newest, and people tend to stay until 2 a.m.

1211 University Ave.

(806) 747-2720

Beer Garden & Daiquiri Lounge

This is two bars in one, and it's connected to the Blue Light. On certain nights, drink specials will get as low as 25 cents a drink.

2202 Buddy Holly Ave.

(806) 749-4466

The Blue Light

This is a great live music venue. It is connected to Daiquiri Lounge, so, in a sense, you get two bars in one.

1806 Buddy Holly Ave.

(806) 762-1185

Café J

Drinks are pricey, but they are some of the best in Lubbock. They make over 20 different kinds of martini.

2605 19th St.

(806) 743-5400

Chimy's

Chimy's is open until midnight rather than 2 a.m. It has a great patio and some of the strongest margaritas in town.

2417 Broadway

(806) 763-7369

Conference Café

This is a bar students can go to if they are under 21. Big black Xs will be placed on your hands, though the small but fun dance floor is well worth it.

3216 Fourth St.

(806) 747-7766

Cricket's Grill & Drafthouse

Live music and over 100 beers on tap are just two of the reasons why this bar is always crowded.

2412 Broadway

(806) 744-4677

The Gas Light

This bar is located far from campus, but it has a nice patio, and you can rent rooms for parties.

5212 57th St.

(806) 785-1720

La Diosa Cellars

This is a great place to take your mom. The music is soft and the atmosphere is so sweet. It's also the only place in the Lubbock city limits where you can buy wine and take it home with you.

901 17th St.

(806) 740-3600

This place has great drink specials on schooners, and it reopens its grill for late night service starting at midnight.

2419 Broadway

(806) 744-9277

The Recovery Room

This bar is on the second floor of the Lubbock Inn, and it is very small and narrow. It brings a crowd with its strong drinks and karaoke machine.

3901 19th St.

Rocky LaRues Bar and Grill

This is one of the popular bars on Broadway. It is a few doors down from Cricket's, and they look almost identical on the inside.

Texas Cafe & Bar (aka "The Spoon")

The specialty drink at The Spoon is a red slushy drink called a Cherry Bomb. You can buy one for yourself or a pitcher for the table while you enjoy the live music they always offer.

3604 50th St.

(806) 792-8544

What to Do if You're Not 21What's This?

There are several bars around Lubbock that allow minors to enjoy the venue without being 21. The catch is that showing a bouncer your ID which says you are under the legal drinking age results in two huge black Xs being drawn on your hands in permanent marker. If that scene doesn't suit you, there are always frat parties, sorority date parties, concerts at coffee shops, bowling, house parties, dorm parties, or you could just get a big group together and go out to dinner.
