Student body is diverse between ages, gender, and races. Everyone gets along and has a sense of friendship. The school consists mostly of young, out of high school students and a small group of part time students are primarily full-time working adults with families.

Wireless acces is always accessible and the speed is up to par. I've never had an issue with the network running slow. Printing was free but they now charge you a fee, which for the price of tuition, should be waived. There are two computer labs; one is okay and the other needs a serious upgrade. The second lab is occupied with ancient old laptops that are over a decade old. The labs are only available during the day which is no help to the part time students; we can only access the labs on Saturdays.

I personally do not feel there is anything unique about the school. I feel that The Restaurant School could take some examples from other schools like Johnson & Whales or the Culinary Institute of America. I do respect the Chef's. They seem to have a primary interest in the students and have knowledge on what they are instructing due to experience. It seems they would like to teach by method but are restricted on how they would like to instruct classes due to upper administration faculty. Academic instructors teaching abilities are lame and seem to not have related experience.

They're are only two computer labs, and as a part time student who comes two nights out of the week, are unavailable to me. There is no athletic center. Also, as a part time student, the school makes no way for us to be able to participate in school clubs or activities.

My experience at the restaurant school has been a disappointing one, and I am sad to say that as it is my first college experience. The school offers no challenge or discipline. Academic classes seem to be made for a 3rd grader. The instructors read directly from power points and some seem to have no background or experience in what they're instructing. Hands on classes are not bad, but they could be better. The Restaurant School teaches by traditional recipes and in my opinion we should be taught on proper cooking methods and techniques. There is no sense of uregency amongst the students in hands on classes and time managment needs to be applied and discoplined more towards the students to get ser up for the real world.
It also seems that the school puts little or no money into supplies and equipment in the school. Pots and pans are warped and dirty, it's hard to find a working cuisinart, ovens are broken or on the fritz, food for the hands on classes are spoiled at times, classes are over populated etc. I have only seen money go into the interior and flare for the school, unnecessary things like tv's on hallway walls displaying or emblem.
There are many things that need to be worked on for The Restaurant School, but it doesn't seem to be a concern. I wish I could say I was proud of where I go to school, but sadly I cannot bring myself to feel that way.

They help you with job placement. They have a vast list of vendors/clients who like to hire graduates.

Though the financial aid advisors help you through this process, the are barely any scholarships for this school, especially for transfer students.

I think the Chefs should teach in the kitchen and not in the class room the school should hire actual teachers to teach because the chefs do not do a good job at teaching.

Awful. We have no professors just bad teachers and chefs.

My school has a diverse student body, with people from various lifestyles. The students are very hard working but do not let that stand in the way of being friendly and helping each other. They are able to make friends outside and during classes without interrupting study work and keeping their schedules busy with activities outside of school. Most if not all students are at the school not only to get an education and learn valuable skills but to also gain a career.

the professors and chefs take pride in what they do, they show concern for each student on a individual bases and push us to work hard. The teachers are very knowledgeable, registration is very easy they work with on finances the have open door policy for assitance with study and respond to emails in a timely fashion.

Not Many Scholarships or Aid. This school doesn't have many scholarships available (or grants) to really help students out. The only other option I had was to take out loans to cover everything!

Good So Far! The transfer process of my credits was quite long for me and involved lots of paperwork. Although it took some time, the Admissions team was just a phone call away to answer all of my questions and concerns. They were very helpful and nice; they always are.
No other concerns besides that!

This school is beautiful! Everything from the kitchens to the classrooms!
Remember, this is a hospitality-based school so there really aren't any science labs or athletic centers found on campus! This school is located in the city of Philadelphia, and therefore does not have a giant campus like many other, larger schools may have.

Happy With Education So Far. So far, my experience has been great! I have lots of college pride for my school. The location is great and the school is beautiful! The only thing the school is lacking that concerns me is financial aid. This school needs more scholarship options and aid benefits. However, a bonus from being enrolled at the school the tour of France and England! During the process of receiving your Associate's Degree you will travel to France. If you return for the Bachelor's program, you will tour England.

Great Experience in Life – My school has been a great experience for me and I still have so much more they are offering to teach me. It is a great school that I would go back to over and over again just because I know it will never stop giving me new experiences.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
