Thiel Dining is not the best aspect of the college. Most students get bored of the Cafeteria food after the first month. However, some high points of the cafeteria are that you can eat as much as you want under each meal credit, and there is always pizza and a sandwich station to eat at if they main entrees don't excite you. The salad bar is lacking and the fruit they offer usually is bruised and occasionally bad and overripe. Your drink options are limited in the cafeteria as well. There is pop, naturally flavored (but sour tasting) water, milk, a couple sports drinks, and juice, all from dispensers and soda fountains. The juice is from a mix and is usally a little weak. The Bistro is great, but the limited amount of Bistro Bucks you get with the meal plan mean you run out of them fast and are back to eating in the cafeteria. The food there is also expensive overall, so if you run out of points and use cash there instead it really hurts your wallet. The Bistro's high points would be the breakfast sandwiches, sandwich wraps, and fries. There are also healthier options there such as salads and fruit cups.

For college dining hall food, Thiel has a lot of variety to offer. The only downside to their dining hall food is that it can get repetitive and rather bland after a while. Fortunately, Thiel's food service is open to suggestions and comments about what students enjoyed, didn't enjoy, want to see more of, would like to have changed, etc. If a student leaves a question or comment that is positive and written in a polite manner, Thiel's food service staff will leave a response detailing whether they are able to provide what the student requested or not and why.
If, as a student at Thiel, you get tired of food from the dining hall, there are a variety of fast food and sit-in places to eat around town. For example, Thiel students can walk up the road to Sheetz, a gas station that serves really good, made-to-order food ranging from burgers to wraps to salads and pizza. Sheetz also offers a variety of drinks including made-to-order smoothies; freshly brewed coffee (a variety of flavors); bottled sodas, smoothies, juices, and even milk; frozen milkshakes; and more. If Sheetz isn't what you're hungry for, you can also go to Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Arby's, Subway, Pizza Hut, Pizza Joes, or Padrones. And for those nights when perhaps you and your date want a sit-down dinner, Thiel's community has Perkins and Stone Arch right in the area, but places such as Applebee's and Red Lobster, among others, are only about 30 minutes up the road from Thiel's community.

The cafeteria is the main place to eat, but there is also the Rotunda Bistro. The meal plans are a 19 meal plan in the cafeteria, a 16 meal plan in the cafeteria with a little over $100 to the bistro, an 11 meal plan in the cafeteria with a little over $200 in the bistro, and I'm not sure if there's one more or not. The cafeteria food gets old after awhile so it is good to switch it up with the bistro food.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
