College Prowler Take
It is always enjoyable to be on a sports team at Towson, whether it is a varsity sports team, club, or intramural. Being involved on a team is a good way to meet people, and there is a great camaraderie among the students on all sports teams. Many students especially love playing intramurals because the teams are less competitive. Guys tend to adore the dance team, and girls enjoy going to lacrosse games to watch the guys. Some sporting events draw larger crowds than others, but, for the most part, people do attend the games, especially during Homecoming. Although sports at Towson can be a great experience, the school strongly lacks school spirit. Homecoming is fun, and many students come to tailgate and then watch the game together. As for all the other games, many call for additional students to attend and for more student involvement. Since there is a lack of school spirit, many excellent teams are not recognized enough, either.

Varsity sports are not too big, and I think that is due to the fact that our football team is not too great. I think over time, varsity sports will become bigger here. As for IM sports, many people are involved in them. They are actually pretty competitive. |

Homecoming is always fun because it is the only day that so many people have school spirit, and everyone just has fun together. The next day, people go back to the bars and forget they ever had school spirit until the following homecoming. |

I know more people involved in IM sports on campus than varsity sports. Varsity sports are popular because people make a huge deal out of tailgating before and after the games. |

Best Place to Take a Walk
There are not really any walking trails on or around Towson’s campus, but Hamden, Inner Harbor, and Federal Hill are great areas to walk around, people watch, and window shop. If you’re looking to get in touch with nature, the NCR Trail is only a few miles from campus, as is the Loch Raven Reservoir, both of which offer great hiking, walking, and biking trails.
