College Prowler Take

Campus dining can be good or bad depending on what dining hall you choose to go to. The Susquehanna Food Court in the University Union is a decent eatery where a student can find Chick-fil-A, pizza, and a deli. Students express their love for the Patuxent because it provides an alternative to the typical mess-hall food. The Glen is a renovated dining hall that students are torn on—some love the renovations and the convenient location between the Towers, but others are still frightened by what the Glen used to be like. Newell is regarded as the mess hall with a variety of options that many students enjoy, as well. There's also the Newell Dining Hall, which has a great salad bar, kosher food, and all-you-care-to-eat options.

As a whole, students find the food okay at Towson and generally better than the food at other schools. The dining halls have many unique attributes that students just love—especially at the Patuxent. It is safe to say, though, that the food on campus lacks appreciation because of the outstanding off-campus dining selection.

Food on campus is actually the best I’ve seen in comparison to other colleges. The dining halls are nice. Newell Dining Hall is about two or three years old, and the other (the Glenn) was renovated. Some good places to eat on campus are the Patuxent and the Den.

I like the choices for food on campus a lot; Paws is one of my favorites, and the choices for food there are pretty good, but all in all, I like all of the places except the newly renovated Glen Dining Hall.

The food is edible but there are not a lot of healthy choices. My favorite spot for lunch is the Patux—if only it could be open all day.

Block meal plans are the most flexible of all meal-plan options. Customers are not locked into using a fixed number of meals per week or per semester. The block meals are good throughout the academic year.
