College Prowler Take
Depending on what dorm you are in, drinking and socializing on campus frequently takes place. Students drink in their rooms, and sometimes even play beer pong in their rooms, and most often do not get caught. Although Towson police make it clear that students will be penalized if they are caught drinking or smoking on campus, if you are smart about it, you will be fine. Campus police increase their strictness at night but are most present when students are already out for the night. Even though students drink in their rooms, drugs are taken much more seriously. Many students get caught with alcohol, but their punishments are not nearly as severe as the penalties people with drugs get. Although students get away with having fun in the dorms and breaking some rules, the campus is sometimes overwhelmingly strict about keeping students safe in terms of signing guests in at all hours, even if they are from the dorm next door. Security continues to heighten on campus, and students have faced serious consequences when they’ve been caught with drugs in their rooms.

If you get caught with any weed or paraphanalia or even a "suspicious odor," the TUPD will not hesitate to trash your room and charge you with as much as they can and then some. Judicial affairs can be cool or not, depending on who you talk to. If you appeal, make sure you get a student board, but even they can't help you sometimes.

Campus police are pretty strict about drugs and drinking. To my knowledge, if you are caught with drugs, you are automatically kicked out of school. About drinking—I know that there is a fine and a class that you must take if caught with alcohol. |

They really aren’t that strict at all. The people that I know that have gotten caught made things way too obvious, or blasted their music, had a bunch of friends over, and did not do anything to prevent the smoke from spreading into the halls. If you don’t take advantage of the leniency, then you will be fine. |

As soon as it gets dark outside, the police are everywhere. I think there have been quite a few incidents of drinking and driving, so this past semester they have really been strict. Sometimes they even do random ‘stop-checks’ for drinking and driving. |

Once you are on your floor, it really is mostly up to your RA to write you up or not, so become good friends with him or her. |
